Which range is better for weddings,

16-85 + 35 + 80-200

or

11-16 + 35 + 80-200

hmm.gif

I suggest try using them at weddings before making conclusions, what I like might not be what u like... Well for me,

16-35 F4 ( For decorations and group photo )
85 1.4 ( Candids )
70-200 ( Most used )

Agito666,
I've not read your post from the beginning, but what are you looking for as for the upgrade?
D70s is quite a capable body, I think A3 prints should not be much of a stress.

Do you print huge?
You love shooting in low light?
Sports?

Having to save till September and reading on what to buy now will really kill too much of your time where you could just shoot with your current gear.
My advice is try not to read too much, specs are always improving and you just won't get enough if you're the techie type.

6 months of shooting will probably gain you better results with your D70s, over 6months of planning with the D7000.

I had your same scenario before, which I loaned (well prema loan) a D40 and just thinking of going for the 50G or 50D lens + D90.
But mine took 1 week+ of reading and thinking. Manual focusing was alright back then, but I wish that in some occasion I wished I was fast enough to focus. Hence the need for the AI.

Best if you just get back you D70 and make a date with these forumers here for an outing and forget about buying anything now (cuz u still need 6 months for $$) enjoy and have fun first. Who knows you'll be more keen in upgrading your lens first before body.

Just my input and thoughts, because a few nights reading before somehow I find it's not very good for health. I can't decide, and I can't do anything about it.

what you say is true also... ya, now if got nice subject then train back my D70s for that. (last time tend to check back photo in small screen really headache... sweat.gif )
wan get D7000 because of live-view and bigger monitor, auto sensor cleaning system. haha sweat.gif already get used with bigger screen with phone.
ya i might go the direction just like you said, saving first, might as well spend some money to service D70s... later plan how to spend for body or maybe lens. (since better lens also cost few K's right? )
anyway thanks for advice. laugh.gif

so now my current struggling reasons on D7000

12-24 f/2.8 is a FX lens. isnt it is 1 of the high end lens?
That's 14-24mm f/2.8. 12-24mm is a DX and an f/4 lens.

guys,my uncle just came back from HK,he bought me a surprise give that is Canon 600D,now i am thinking to jump ship to canon and sell my D3100  hmm.gif or use both,I love the 600D better cause it can use all type of lens no need the af one like D3100  sweat.gif ,or 600D full time  brows.gif ,D3100 part time biggrin.gif
What AF Nikkor lens do you want to use on the D3100?

QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 16 2011, 11:56 PM)
if still can't you need to stack. That's how macro peeps do
If the subject is a still, that's ok. Not if the subject is live and moving like the tortoise.

QUOTE(faareast @ Mar 16 2011, 11:58 PM)
will try, but i'm limited by the light.. dim room light.. with no flash..
my ISO i set to 2500 already.. for d90, the ISO acceptable/usable till how much?
There is no way of getting large DoF without using external flash. Unless your subject is still and you manage to use long shutter speeds on a tripod with very small aperture.

QUOTE(SSY22 @ Mar 17 2011, 12:02 AM)
Focal Length:55mm
ISO:400
Aperture:F8
ShutterS:1/200s

VR on. Flash fired
Just some comments. At those high shutter speeds and with flash, there is no necessity to use VR.

If you're having problems with sharpness, switch the VR off and shoot again. See what you get.

QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 17 2011, 12:30 AM)
the bokeh looks ugly for 50/1.8 blink.gif
That's the characteristics of the 50mm. Bokeh is very messy and distracting when you shoot against bright background.

QUOTE(stevenlys @ Mar 17 2011, 12:43 AM)
Today just try out the 70-200 vrii on a shop and the thing is heavy and huge, wonder how you guy bring it for vacation shooting.
The shop lets you try it our without buying? Which shop is this?

QUOTE(jobneed @ Mar 17 2011, 09:46 AM)
anyone used before nikon 105mm macro before? how is the quality?
The new AF-S VR or the older AF-D? They are one of the best Nikkor lenses available.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Mar 17 2011, 10:42 AM)
Just called up Nikon to get updates on my 70200. Currently awaiting for parts sad.gif.

Customer service mentioned they will be changing the barrel (???), so need approximately 2 weeks for the part to arrive. T_T. Lucky thing tho, everything is under warranty since no quotation sent to me phew.
Can they get parts in 2 weeks with the current situation now in Japan?

Changing barrel? Perhaps yours had the problem with the inner barrel not smooth?

QUOTE(s6xs9x @ Mar 17 2011, 12:26 PM)
Well I guess when you come back from a shoot, sometimes you wish you had the extra frames in between, wouldn't that be sharper?
That's correct. But ifer just mentioned that whats the point of having extra frames when all of them are out of focus. Extra frames don't guarantee sharp photos.

I would try damp cloth first and if it's unsuccessful, I'll use alcohol.
