if you import raw files into lightroom, by default there will be some preset settings applied, which includes a little bit of sharpening. smile.gif

QUOTE(ReeNz @ Mar 16 2011, 03:41 PM)
Automatically applied, but of course u can tuned it off and any other stuff to your preference before converting to jpeg
*
how to I turn them OFF? somehow I felt it look better originally, but after the loading then it kind"a" make me wonder and could get back what I saw earlier.

QUOTE(fubs @ Mar 16 2011, 03:58 PM)
just after importing. i'm not sure exactly when, but on my not-so-fast computer, i can see the settings being applied when i select the picture tongue.gif

and as i notice it, the presets are camera-dependent. so the preset settings are different depending on camera smile.gif

On my none faster than your computer, I see "loading" and then adjustments are made auto.

Happens on my PC too when I was using LR2.4 back then, but when I LR3 I didn't notice that anymore. LR just apply the Adobe Standard processing on each of my photo unless I specify the default through Adobe Camera Raw.
*
I'm using LR3 too, and have already set "None" in Apply During Import > Develop settings. Still it adjust.
Can you please tell me more on Adobe Camera Raw? where to I find it in LR?

I can't seem to get sharp pictures with my 50mm.
Please comment on the below, is it anywhere near sharp?
No adjustments made only watermark and export via LR3.

The label

Sharp at 18-105 smile.gif

What speed do you guys prefer as a minimum for hand held?
Does ISO effect the sharpness?

Here's another shot @ 1/200 f/2.8 does this qualify in the acceptable region in terms of sharpness?

Minimum speed, depends on the lens and situation. You can follow the tumb rule. If you're at 50mm, then minimum is 1/50. For DX, if at 50mm, then it's 1/80. Right guys? I'm a noob too  blush.gif

Now for the picture, for me, I'd say yes. Spot-on focusing too smile.gif

anybody else can share the rule for speed?

which model has ev meter on the top LCD on NIKON body?
Is there anyway to swap (function button) for ISO? Can't find the options.
Shooting manual + manual focus sometimes are pain in the ass with D90 compared to my D40 "fingers still not adapting well" or can I assign bracket to ISO instead?

Press info twice then move to fn. You should be able to change it from there.
*
I'll try it tonight, cuz before this i changed the options to focus. Couldn't see an option for ISO for Fn. Thx

you guys must understand the difference between spamming and asking opinion.

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Mar 17 2011, 12:01 PM)
i thought most of us at here is spamming ? laugh.gif
*
Wouldn't it be easier to just skip whenever you see something you don't like and spend more time enjoying what caught your eyes?
for this case reading and learning lorh. "for example" many of you guys doesn't even notice that I'm posting this. and they're mostly happy forumer's :B

QUOTE(celciuz @ Mar 17 2011, 11:38 AM)
Just another bragging right for most people tongue.gif, "My camera can do 8fps, 9fps, 11fps."
LOL.
*
Well I guess when you come back from a shoot, sometimes you wish you had the extra frames in between, wouldn't that be sharper?
for me I never have the chance to use continuous shots yet. maybe with i get a mega zoom and head down Africa and hunt some cheetahs or be hunted.

p/s: spamming my thoughts.

Agito666,
I've not read your post from the beginning, but what are you looking for as for the upgrade?
D70s is quite a capable body, I think A3 prints should not be much of a stress.

Do you print huge?
You love shooting in low light?
Sports?

Having to save till September and reading on what to buy now will really kill too much of your time where you could just shoot with your current gear.
My advice is try not to read too much, specs are always improving and you just won't get enough if you're the techie type.

6 months of shooting will probably gain you better results with your D70s, over 6months of planning with the D7000.

I had your same scenario before, which I loaned (well prema loan) a D40 and just thinking of going for the 50G or 50D lens + D90.
But mine took 1 week+ of reading and thinking. Manual focusing was alright back then, but I wish that in some occasion I wished I was fast enough to focus. Hence the need for the AI.

Best if you just get back you D70 and make a date with these forumers here for an outing and forget about buying anything now (cuz u still need 6 months for $$) enjoy and have fun first. Who knows you'll be more keen in upgrading your lens first before body.

Just my input and thoughts, because a few nights reading before somehow I find it's not very good for health. I can't decide, and I can't do anything about it.

thumb of rule, If you have the cash and don't mind spending I can't find ways to justify cheaper = better. If you need video buy a view cam.

I have the feeling gonna kena *taruh* here.
