i think from what you said, you already deciding to buy a55.  erm, for me, 16-105 is a nice walkaround lens flash? i think not so soon if you don't mind sacrifice some of your quality to boost ISO to 1600/3200 to exchange the faster shutter speed when low light. with flash is bulky. filters? if you have $ get a CZ filter 62mm for 16105 lo, thats it.. |

yup 16-105mm is enuf for family n fun shooting...and later u get the flash. a55 have good ISO control...use it 1st before getting a flash later...
