Buy a very long cable (preferably several thousand miles long), swim across the Pacific Ocean, ask blizzard if you could plug in your cable to one of their server ports, swim back, log in to your wow and now you can enjoy lower latency. biggrin.gif

This friend of mine who plays on Thaurissan US from the UK, she says she's getting an average of 150ms.
But yea, geographical distance does play a huge part in your latency.

KL to US West: 13879 km
London to US West: 8599 km

The geographical distance is around the same.  laugh.gif

For me, latency is not the major problem, 300-400 ms in US with tunnel is definitely playable,

We can adjust our response to in sync the latency delay. Look at Malaysia dota scene, we are use to lag dota wheher online or ggclient

The major problem is the spike.

Malaysia ISP always suffer from spike illness when in a demanding environment, such as raid.

All pvp situation where, one simple spike will lose u the game.

Answer: Is to play wowtaiwan.

Although this will solve the latency problem, but then other problem arise. E.g. Language barrier, re-leveling etc

I play on WoW US no problem, wanted to get unifi but decided it wasn't worth it just for WoW, then found a tunnel which helped a lot. No more lag while raiding/instancing. So it's very smooth and no more cursing streamyx nowadays.

let put it this point, due to geographical issues, you should be faithful to get around 200-400ms (with/without tunnel) depending on the routine.

as some reported 60.x.x.x ip is good for wow us, some claims that 175.x.x.x, and even some claims that 218.x.x.x.

All this somehow matters but the key concerns is the connection from your pc to wow server, how's the routine? what we know as tracert... and deeply navigate into the path to the server will futher improve your latency.. (that u have to depends on your so call isp)

your comp --> tm internet routine (dslam/bras etc) --> routine to us --> at&t internal routine --> wow server

OR

your comp --> tm internet routine (dslam/bras etc) --> routine to us --> peering point --> continue route to us --> at&t internal routine --> wow server

malaysia jalan always traffic jam.. now internet also jam... lols

**peering point is the key for better wow latency, and its depends from your connections.**

Forget about how many hops from your comp to wow server, 1 or 2 extra doesnt matter much if stable.. if you get 10 hops to wow servers but have a peering point, connection ahead it might be an issue.

**anyways, if we got you@1malaysia email for RM50bil(might increase blah blah.. and money to? we know) might as well improve malaysia's international bandwidth

yeah i want to know too .

some my proxy cust using Unifi also lol . tongue.gif

yes like ctandk say . it really depend geographical issues on the latecny u get for wow US .

some ip range give good route to WOW US .

like me using range 175.xx + proxy . 230 ms stable most of the time . NO spike

other ip range depend on time , perk hour . etc

if you using streamyx just pray u get a good ip range . hehe

if we can get 200ms+ without much spike, for malaysia to us datacentre, its above satisfaction level.

believe not? most us residence getting latency around 50ms+, some of them even got 100ms-200ms (that us to us datacentre)..

personally i using 175.x.x.x and 218.x.x.x range of streamyx 4mbps, i find it amazing standing around 220ms+ sometime peak 300ms+ (never above 330ms) without tunnel.[cool.gif, gaming experience much awesome, never have any ingame spike (for 25man raid)..

if you having spike frequently, try indentify the point to us datacentre that causes you the spike. best to indentify while playing.

then select an most idealogy tunnel host for you, latency might be 30-60ms higher, but routine more stable.
