Latency is influenced by geographical distance to server and routing. Even if you have the most optimised route to the servers, you won't be seeing anything less than three digit latency as the servers are halfway across the world. There have been talks and rumors to localize wow servers in australia and singapore, and there's also this but so far these plans have not materialize as blizzard deems them too cost ineffective and inviable. Buy a very long cable (preferably several thousand miles long), swim across the Pacific Ocean, ask blizzard if you could plug in your cable to one of their server ports, swim back, log in to your wow and now you can enjoy lower latency. This post has been edited by gaeria84: Mar 3 2011, 01:45 PM

This friend of mine who plays on Thaurissan US from the UK, she says she's getting an average of 150ms. But yea, geographical distance does play a huge part in your latency.
KL to US West: 13879 km London to US West: 8599 km

QUOTE(Instant_noodle @ Mar 7 2011, 09:45 PM) well, TMNut likes to use fish food to repair the cables instead of REAL material A major earthquake just hit Tokyo, Japan hours ago. Brace yourselves for yet another damaged cable announcement from TM. This post has been edited by gaeria84: Mar 11 2011, 04:30 PM

QUOTE(radzy82 @ Apr 20 2011, 07:29 PM) Blizzard already said it was way too expensive to set up a server here And I kinda agree because bandwidth is way too overpriced here in this part of the world. Ask ASEAN banks how much they pay for dedicated bandwidth for their services. This post has been edited by gaeria84: Apr 20 2011, 08:40 PM

QUOTE(Derrecklim @ Apr 22 2011, 11:51 AM) For those who having major lag try using laglessproxy it really helps out alot. http://www.laglessproxy.com/Before this i keep having problem like having 4-5k latency and i keep calling TMNut for solution. They send me a contractor over to my place and told me your cable to old already thats y slow. You need to change your cable for RM 400 -,-", lucky got some lyn members pm me call me to try out lagless proxy and it works. Btw got 200ms already consider good, dont complain already is more pain when u get latency like 2k-5k ms everyday.... How much is that? I used to use PingFaster cause it was free, but now I believe it has closed down. Switched to HighPingBuster now This post has been edited by gaeria84: Apr 23 2011, 04:39 PM

QUOTE(nagflar @ Apr 30 2011, 12:56 AM) go to game menu - option - network - optimize network for speed. by default this option is tick . but i find out if un tick this option i get more stable connnection . less disconnect also . how about you guy ? My latency improved greatly (constant 200-220ms) when I have that option ticked.
