it's 2x1 bro.

I went to a construction group and found another contractor that quoted me on this.

Hi pls find the written quote for your review.

1.Labour of fixing plus materials(cement & cement adhesive) Rm4.20 per Sq ft..

2. Rescreeding to level the existing floor ( if not level) rm1.80 per Sq ft..materials included ( sand & cement)

much cheaper by 50 cents

Hi Guys,

Anyone got any tilling contractors to recommend at Rawang area.
I'm having some issue with my tiles in my room, they are expanding upward and almost look like volcano going to erupt.
Please pm me the details

Thank you.

If involves several tiles only, just fix it yourself.

Buy tiles and use epoxy to glue them back smile.gif

My contractor calculate tiles like this

Area 1000sqft
2'x2' = RM17 /pcs

Total tile + installation = RM17 x 1000 = RM17,000

You need a new contractor as when a contractor gives you that type of quotes indirectly he is saying he isn't interested in your business.

So, 2' x 2' is already 4 sqft

So, I guess 17,000/4 = 4250 only smile.gif

that's what i thought, even if he quoted RM8500 with installation seems reasonable.

Assuming 17K is inclusive of tiles and cement+workmanship

Here is what I can breakdown: p.s. estimates only... cost of tiles variable depends on quality/design, your contractor may have different rate..

1000 sq ft /4 (2x2 tile is 4 sq ft each) = 250pcs of tiles say at rm10 (usually grade B tiles) per piece = rm2500

Workmanship is usually between rm6-10 per sq ft for 2x2 tiles (rm 10 usually inclusive of cement and sand)
1000 x 10 = rm10000

your total outlay will be around rm9k to 13k

if there is hacking involved add another rm2-3k (rm2-3 per sq ft).

Using trim edging looks more nice. No sharp edge in case you trip and bang your head on edge corner biggrin.gif

Anyway, why is dilemma? I think it should not cost significantly more since it is just plastic hmm.gif

if you are looking for contractor to renovate your house, you may pm me as i have a good one to recommend (Indo supervisor worked here for more than 10 years). Most of the contractor did provide one year defect but most of the time they may not entertain you after completed the reno but for my case, i have contacted twice and he did come to fix the defects and hence i will strongly recommend him to you. He has not much work recently and hence i post here to see who is looking for a contractor.
