QUOTE(Reno123 @ Feb 20 2017, 04:48 PM) Hi, Please advise what is current market price for tiling work (include all materials to cement and labor, I buy own tiles 1x1) for flooring. I have tried hard to search such info over the internet, no good luck at all. Many Thanks. Can't tell you the exact price, but usually contractors charge per square feet. This includes labor and materials except tiles. For Kuching, last I heard ranges from 4.50-6.50 psf.

QUOTE(little_pixie @ Jan 30 2017, 12:07 PM) Guys, I wanna ask. Is it possible for us to paint the tiles that already installed? I watched a lot of Youtube videos and see many of them painted their bathroom. Not only coast effective but easy to do it. Any advice from sifus?? Thanks Depends on what sort of tiles, but why would you want to do it anyway? Tiles, especially in high traffic areas are meant to be resistant to wear and tear. No paint can even come close to it. Unless there's some sort of new technology etc. in paints, haven't heard of it.

QUOTE(suyin922 @ Feb 26 2017, 05:16 PM) I want to redo car porch tiling 18' x 26', a contractor quoted to hack and retile at RM15 psq (excluding tiles cost), can anyone let me know whether this is reasonable? My house in Klang and my porch currently unable to drain water after heavy rain I would say is quite expansive. You might calculate base on the following, 18x26xRM 15 = RM 7020.00 Then you ask the contractor, how many days and how many workers they need to get the job done. From there you can judge his labour. Then you add adhesive, transportation and etc. Probably they can make a few k there. But sometimes opar work is like that la. No choice.

Possible to remove just the grouting and re-do? Yes... just use a knife and cut the grouting. Then regrout the color you want. It's tedious but diy-able.

How is the 2nd grade of Guocera tiles? Went to jln ipoh saw many shops selling 2nd grade tiles which is 50-60% cheaper than 1st grade. Salesmen claimed it is just minor imperfection, would not have size problem. Is it true?

Is it true? 2nd grade tile will have minor ununiform size and colour, you will found it appears inconsistent after laying them to each other, by simple eye comparison might not that obvious in first glance

I went to guocera, Niro and white horse but out of 3 Niro has the most selection I need, currently opt for ECOFORESTA and Stockholm just wonder any other brand that match the selection, good quality and cheaper than Niro, but again the Stockholm tiles stir my interest This post has been edited by TheEvilMan: Mar 8 2017, 06:27 PM

if anyone wants a tile layer (indon), please let me know. he does the work by himself and his crew.
he did a decent job for me (not great, but ok). must know how to deal / negotiate with Indon otherwise they will extract more and more from you.
