Aftersale service? I don't think Sager is responsible for your laptop, but the reseller you ordered from...

The laptops are made to last as long as you take care of them. Read http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clev...ers-lounge.html to see what the owners say. Unless you mess around with the hardware in your laptops, I doubt you'll have much problems with them. I caused my HD 5870M to malfunction at one point and the whole laptop couldn't start. I just emailed Mucro and they contacted Sager on my behalf. Sager told them to have me send the GPU back while they send me a new one. I explained what I did to cause such an issue on the laptop and they didn't seem to care. laugh.gif There was another owner of the NP8690.... He messed with the thermal pads by replacing them and they melted into the GPU or something like that (I can't really remember, check the NBR forum for more info) and they just told him to send back the GPU. So yeah... Tell me if these examples don't really show that their aftersales service is not good.

May I ask where you read such claims from?

Edit: I think I've found out where you heard the claims from. I'd have to agree with it then but like I mentioned above, it all works out. Just go through your reseller (Mucro/CubeHub/whoever).

http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clev...ying-sager.html laugh.gif Based on that thread, the resellers are way better than Sager themselves. Just give it a read through.

Erm.... ordering from Mucro @ Cubehub(I guess), would give you the proper adapter for our wall sockets. Battery? What are you worried about? @_@ Seriously, once you go with these babies, you'd never look at other laptops again. I may sound biased but its true. Those who have problems are just unlucky. I guess about 90% of those who own Sagers don't have a single problem with their unit unless its self inflicted, like what I did. :\

laugh.gif Just get a cheap laptop to help you get through Uni first. Grad and work. Then get a Sager. By then they would be way more powerful than they are now and the batteries would last longer I guess. Save the money for rainy days. Getting the laptop last year was a serious distraction.

This is where people are wrong. If you read my review, I told you to NEVER look at Sager themselves. They are horrible in customer service, but people tend to overlook the resellers, who provide the end user contacts and make the overall experience better.

Now, try putting the names of resellers in the website.

I have to quote from This is a Lamp
QUOTE
The resellers are an important factor in choosing a Sager/Clevo laptop; they play a huge part in your purchase and warranty issues and most importantly, your first impression. As other consumer brands are answering machines and less technical when it comes to support, the Sager/Clevo resellers are people, and offer quick, adaptive technical knowledge to their customers, be it with jargon (technical words) or not. Most of these resellers are forum representatives in Notebookreview.com, and you can specifically ask them about questions and cheaper quotes. Even here in Lowyat, Mucro SG, a Singaporean reseller, has a forum rep lurking and answering questions. But do not order directly from Sager, because they are quite horrible with patrons and just about as bad as the answering machine brands.

Acer also produce laptops at very attractive price, and as you said, made from cheap stuff; but still lots of people buying it.

Praying hard that Sager will last me for at least 6 years. My Inspiron 1420 lasted me for 5 years with NO maintenance at all, and is still doing great. Just problems with heat and playing games.

I wonder mucro/cubehub able to offer option of not to choose hard drive and memory module to make the unit cheaper, like RJ Tech. hmm.gif

http://rjtech.com/shop/index.php

And also, awaiting info for HD6970m in NP8150 model, which Eurocom already test it.
