QUOTE(kakisemut @ Feb 24 2011, 02:44 AM) Acceptable for general use, it's soft wide open at many focal length, especially 200mm; For non-OS version, top up a little you can get used hand Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D (two touch).In the end it depends on the user, is it acceptable; The sigma however have HSM and the non-OS version have some macro capability. |

There's reason why the Nikkors cost more than the third party. The VR2 for example is sharp wide open! (Even better at f/4

Sigma -> Sigmalux right?
Only the 50mm is acceptable, mainly because Nikkor's 50mm is just sub par lol~ Once Nikkor comes with the updated 50mm f/1.2, kiss the Sigma good bye~ |

Having a faster UWA is not bad. It's good to have extra stops in low light condition. f/2.8 is not always about the bokeh.

I mean practically you will use it at f8 right? so an aperture is it a consideration of choosing UWA? I have sigma 10-20 4-5.6 and sigma 10-20 3.5 sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM tokina 12-24 in my mind what do you think? those makes me think whether aperture is a consideration of choosing UWA or not. QUOTE(KTCY @ Feb 24 2011, 10:14 AM) bro are u sure nikkon is releasing 50 1.2?because I heard that Nikkon mounting place is too small which makes them hard to make those big big aperture lenses.
