QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 16 2011, 08:42 AM) D5k BG got 2 types, one is cable type like General_Nic using, the other one is IR.QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 16 2011, 10:55 AM) Try playing with exposure. Like -0.3 or soQUOTE(kakisemut @ Feb 16 2011, 02:09 PM) I would suggest you to go for EN-EL3e battery as well. Long term investment. Eneloop batteries are "specially made" for flash Extra info, by using 2 EN-EL3e batteries and BG, it will use the right battery 1st until 0% then only will use the 2nd battery on the left side. |

@aldosoesilo - Come to think of it, try using D-Lightning function for your upcoming Redang trip as well

QUOTE(aldosoesilo @ Feb 16 2011, 03:00 PM) new upcoming model lol, you and I got typo, it's D-lighting, not D-lightning XDto be honest I am not really sure about the function of D-lightning. but I always have it on. Thanks for the advice anyway. I want to capture landscape this time. Yeah.. thinking to get either hoya or kenko. but again depends on the price. suppose to be ok even w/o CPL right? Added on February 16, 2011, 3:01 pm really. I don't get what are you trying to say. Erm erm, not the "Active D-Lighting", there's another "D-Lighting" function |

QUOTE(Worms @ Feb 17 2011, 05:43 AM) Hi, i'm newbie in DSLR camera and plan to buy Nikon D3100. I need some advice before i buy it. My main use on this camera is landscape and portrait picture, hence I plan to buy 2 more lens which are The items you've listed above are actually great combo. However, in my opinion, why not go for 35mm and a speedlight instead, suits well for capturing portrait. As for landscape, kitlens will be sufficient. Anyhow, it's just my opinion though 1. Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens 2. Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens Do you think these lens are reasonable choices? Is external flash a necessary to have? QUOTE(juruteknikmuda89 @ Feb 17 2011, 09:44 AM) morning nikonians,i want to ask about d300s By comparing these 2 bodies, in my opinion, just go for D7k, body around RM3.8k whereas D300s body around RM4k. Newer technology above all... 1)is it worth to buy it for my 2nd body? 2)what type port at the front of d300s body beside lens?(the covered with rubber) FYI,i'm owner of d90 the way i see if i buy d7000, it would be more expensive than d300s need y'all opinions. QUOTE(Agito666 @ Feb 17 2011, 10:02 AM) He meant the top LCD. |

Oh no guys, don't look down on 55-200mm, it's a sharp lens for portrait. Ask ask General_Nic
QUOTE(bbuser91 @ Feb 17 2011, 01:51 PM) Guy what do you guy think about 17-55mm f2.8g , it is without VR , or nikon purposely make it w/o VR because the f2.8 so we can gain more shutter speed? Good question, I also wanna ask, why 24-70mm f/2.8 also no VR 1... Anyhow, do consider to get 24-70, it's a FX lens with Nano coating! Whereas 17-55 is a DX lens without Nano coating. I'm just comparing the worthness in terms of price. Teach me thanks ! thinking to get that |

QUOTE(virginslayer @ Feb 17 2011, 02:04 PM) hi guys,i intend to get a nikon d7000 this weekend at lowyat. any idea what's the advantage apart of its high ISO? i heard many reviews that the nikon's parts are very expensive rather than others like sony and canon.cos i am currently using sony a33. Partially mag alloy body, dual slot SD card... And errr, not everything is more expensive than Canon and Sony, depends on items though.QUOTE(Andy214 @ Feb 17 2011, 02:07 PM) For the price, it's actually good, it's light, easy for travel and carry around, sharp too. The main drawback is it's focusing speed, but it depends what you use it for and you can learn to compensate the focusing speed by pre-focusing to shorten the focus time. True true! 55-200 is indeed very light! The 55-300 VR would be better with metal mount + 9 rounded aperture blades; This one have people selling sligthly below RM1K. Anyhow, it depends what you use for and your requirements. This is s DX lens, so if you plan to upgrade to FX, you might want to consider the 70-300 VR. But if you just want a lens that is CHEAP, light, easy to carry around, the 55-200 or 55-300 would probably make do. The best is to test/try it out yourself the lens and decide. QUOTE(superb123 @ Feb 18 2011, 02:15 AM) D90 is very easy to use! Anyway, it depends on user, not the camera body. QUOTE(nelprudent @ Feb 18 2011, 02:25 AM) i'm planning on buying it but i'm on a tight budget... saw ads on mudah.my selling new one but cheapest is rm3199 and with out bag and mmc... but if i can find 3.1k with accessories (bag, mmc, screen protector, uv filter, etc) would probably grab it.. but isn't it too cheap for d90 to have such freebies? LOL lol, you may compare the prices with the sellers in Garage Sales, start from a seller with the name of mitmivec. Anyway, the one I've stated RM3.1k is from Cosmos in LYP. Those freebies won't costs much either, you'll end up not using them |

I've read on the net, some said beginner and some said mid range... If you ask me, I would say D90 stuck in between the entry level and the mid range level. Anyway, why bother about it? QUOTE(heinlein @ Feb 18 2011, 10:09 AM) Hi guys. Does non-AF/AF-S lens work on DSLR. What I mean is the lens for Film SLR - will they work on Digital SLR? Sorry for my noob question. The easiest way to differentiate is to see from the lens, if there is a word 'AF' then it will AF on selected DSLR. Simple eh? As for non-AF lenses, they still can work on DSLR, however, you need to play them manually, which includes the shutter speed and aperture (you gotta do guessing). Anyhow, do correct me if I'm wrong though, I got these info from BTS Nikon Centre. |

Those lens have no AF or AF-S lens so I want to know if it work on Nikon D3100 DSLR. If it does, I might buy it Yes it will work, but 100% manually. If you got the patience to play, why not? |
