Hi, i'm newbie in DSLR camera and plan to buy Nikon D3100. I need some advice before i buy it. My main use on this camera is landscape and portrait picture, hence I plan to buy 2 more lens which are

1. Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED IF AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
2. Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens

Do you think these lens are reasonable choices? Is external flash a necessary to have?

hi guys,i intend to get a nikon d7000 this weekend at lowyat. any idea what's the advantage apart of its high ISO? i heard many reviews that the nikon's parts are very expensive rather than others like sony and canon.cos i am currently using sony a33.

For the price, it's actually good, it's light, easy for travel and carry around, sharp too. The main drawback is it's focusing speed, but it depends what you use it for and you can learn to compensate the focusing speed by pre-focusing to shorten the focus time.

The 55-300 VR would be better with metal mount + 9 rounded aperture blades; This one have people selling sligthly below RM1K.

Anyhow, it depends what you use for and your requirements. This is s DX lens, so if you plan to upgrade to FX, you might want to consider the 70-300 VR. But if you just want a lens that is CHEAP, light, easy to carry around, the 55-200 or 55-300 would probably make do. The best is to test/try it out yourself the lens and decide.

Really? I even saw people using 35mm 1.8 on their D3s. yeah 35mm 1.8 is a DX lens.

i'm planning on buying it but i'm on a tight budget... saw ads on mudah.my selling new one but cheapest is rm3199 and with out bag and mmc... but if i can find 3.1k with accessories (bag, mmc, screen protector, uv filter, etc) would probably grab it.. but isn't it too cheap for d90 to have such freebies? LOL

Hi guys. Does non-AF/AF-S lens work on DSLR. What I mean is the lens for Film SLR - will they work on Digital SLR? Sorry for my noob question.

I have old lens from my dad. I ransack it from the store. A very old one but still in good condition. Those lens have no AF or AF-S lens so I want to know if it work on Nikon D3100 DSLR. If it does, I might buy it
