the different between Neo-V and Neo is the camera. Go for Neo for the better 8.1MP camera.
Neo-V downgraded to 5MP because of the deadly Japan earthquake took lives and brought the local electronics industry to a halt. Sony was affected too and, with a shortage of 8 megapixel camera sensors looming, someone had to take the hit. That someone was the Xperia neo. This is the story told by a company insider, who we have no reason to doubt.
V means 5, or value?

V means 5, or value? bro, u think i revert back using pc companion ok or not ar? coz xda forum the member say due to the kernel is still stock-based, just that it is being rooted only. There will be no problem using pc companion to revert. i read the 'safe method to revert' u gave me, but that's for neo and he is using stock kernel to flash it back. pro dun have stock kernel uploaded by members yet..so not safe liaw..what say u? If you haven NOT unlocked the bootloader then you can use pc companion. If you have unlocked the bootloader, pc companion will not work. It'll say you phone has been modified. 1. you can flash to original Pro rom using wotanserver 2. you download pro firmware (if you can find and download it) and flash using Flash utility 3. Relock the bootloader, and use PC companion. Added on January 7, 2012, 12:59 pmIt is safer to use stock kernel for Pro. Wotan server link for pro: http://www.wotanserver.com/en/sony-ericsso...ebranding-flashI did use this to update my NEO because i've unlocked bootloader and pc companion rejected my update. So far no problem. I think you should too. This post has been edited by jeopardise: Jan 7 2012, 01:02 PM

Was REALLY wanting that Neo, but I've heard that the Neo V was faster... that, plus the fact that the Neo V was receiving Ice Cream Sandwich earlier than Neo, made the decision so damn difficult...

Trust me, you don't really need a faster phone that drain your battery faster, because you won't be utilize the extra mhz. Besides, Neo and Neo V had the same 1ghz Snapdragon processor so they should be the same. SE is somewhat optimize their firmware that it run things smooth even with single core. As for the ICS issue, don't worry as sooner or later you'll get them, as SE promised. Not like without that your phone cannot run.

nevermind ... no pain no gain :-P
if u relock bootloader, pc companion might not work also because it can check modifiied system in ur phone after u rooted it. however it might work too eventhough phone is rooted.
better to flash offline. u can re-use it anytime.

i dont know why my xperia neo will randomly freeze when transferring/deleting files or doing other activities. then the screen will auto turn off(black) and i wont able to turn it on back no matter which button i pressed. but i can see the light under the button will still on when i pressed on it. i even tried to call the hp with another phone, but screen still black while ringtone is working. happened many times already & i hv to take out the battery and put it back to restart. anyone ever encountered same issue? already happen on the first week using the phone. definitely wont get this crap phone if i knew it comes with such problem
