So, I just called Sony Ericsson Support Centre and they told me Xperia Neo is NOT going to be launched in Malaysia.
So my question is, where can I get a good AP set around SJ/PJ?
Or should I get one from Singapore, which I'd need to send back to Singapore for warranty if the phone screws up?
*
SS15 USJ. My Neo was a HK set from them - RM 1,300.00
Lemme get their contact details...

HERE YOU GO

The problem is... SE Singapore are like here - no commit in launching Neo/Pro as of today.

It must be AP set. NOTE: AP Set is still ORI but not ORI SonyEricsson Malaysia but ORI from other part of the world. An AP set is as good as an ORI set.

The difference is that when ORI set got problem, you can bring it back to SonyEricsson Malaysia, whereby AP set you can only bring it back to the seller.

Now Neo sells about RM1000-1100 only.

Glad you've finally settle down with the Neo. What color you are buying? Mine is gradient Blue, coated with matte screen to reduce fingerprint.
I've sync the fb calendar. Google cannot meh?
I tried the longest standby time for 24h from 100% down to 32% with stock settings.

IMHO the blue is the prettiest among all colors. The red is slightly reddish compare to Vivaz's maroon red (my favourite) and the black &
rooted? I followed nash_ph_41's guide in xda developer and step by step updated to current 2.3.3 version - rooted with lock bootloader.

Yes the ExmorR sensor will show his power under low light shooting. This is the blade where SE's camera technology are capable to stand against Nokia's N8/N9's 12 Megapixels (main) with Carl Zeiss optics and xenon flash.

which camera is better between neo/ray/arc ?
all using 8mpx, exmor r sensor

but arc seems to have good review bout camera but neo camera was bit dissapointed.. i thought it was the same ?

Apart in reading the reviews, please also read on the comments on the review. Apparently most of the ppl does not agree on the camera part where Neo is not as good as Arc - when both of them uses the same ExmorR chip rclxub.gif
I suspect that the reviewer had a bad time playing with this phone during reviews.

Now back to your question:
Arc - big screen 4.2", no front camera.
Neo - Mid screen 3.7", front camera.
Ray - compact 3.3" screen, front camera.
Neo V - 5mp, 16x zoom. No ExmorR sensor.
Arc S - 1.4ghz processor

Hi everyone!
I was planning to get Xperia Neo but i saw people complaining about the wifi function in SE forum, and other forums as well...
The problem was either the connection usually go on and off/can't connect/unstable. sad.gif
See:
http://androidforums.com/sony-ericsson-xpe...eo-pro-too.html
http://talk.sonyericsson.com/message/83473#83473

Anyone here facing the same problem?
*
2 months using it and I don;t face any wifi problem.

My laptop, on the other hand, yes.

is it worth to buy Neo now ?
*
No, because iphone5 is coming soon, and Neo V is coming soon, and Arc S is coming soon, and Xperia Duo is coming soon, and Samsung Quad is coming soon, and...

If you think that it is the time, go get it. There is really no "worth to buy" time.

You ask this thread of course Neo, you ask in Galaxy S+ thread of course GS+.
Try to ask in general recommendation thread. It is pinned.

OTA update with lock bootloader and rooted! icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on September 24, 2011, 10:19 amI have received some pm regarding the benefits of rooting the phone and here I would like to share some to our fellow Neo users:

Rooting is to gain extra control of your phone. Some apps can only be run under these privilege.

Useful Apps for NEO require Root:
1. App2SD - Move the program file of certain apps to SD card. This is important to Neo as the internal memory of SE phone is not as big as other brands. By moving the apps to SD (I've upgraded to a 32gb Class 4, so plenty of space)
2. Titanium Backup - To backup certain apps to SD card, and can disable/delete unwanted apps to run. Some user might not want the timescape to run but I think it is ok. You can do so in this app to free up extra internal memory.
3. Change 3rd party Theme:

Any other good apps to share?

Move the program file of certain apps to SD card
example of certain apps ?
*
Foursquare, Titanium Backup, Opera Mini browser, PowerAMP media player, etc...

Facebook, Papago X5, etc... are not movable to SD.

hello guys, i see this phone with desire s is no different is it? my friend already bought desire s...and i dont want to buy same with him..so i think about this (xperia neo) as it is different and more cheap some more compare to desire s...so..is it  recommended? thanks!
*
Well, everyone had their favourite. HTC Desire S is not a bad phone and the specification is more or less same as the Neo. There is really no good or bad when choosing any one of these 2 phones. But...

Since you are now asking in the Neo thread, we the Neo users will say how good the Neo is, but not the Desire S.

The reason I picked Neo is because I had another HTC Legend with me and I wan to try something different, and the shape of the Neo is nicely looking in a non-squarish shell (I was a formal SE Vivaz user). The size of the phone is just nice without being too big (look at those giant 4.2" monster!)

The only down side of Neo vs Desire S is that the Neo is only available in AP, whereby the Desire S is warranty by SIS Malaysia.

Dirty keyboard.
Fast? I don't know about N8 but IMHO the neo is pretty fast with a class 4 microsd.

To all the senior and those who know a lot more than me...I am a newbie in touchscreen phone...I had bought an AP Xperia Neo 3 weeks ago...However, i am facing problem with the software update...nw still using 3.0.1.A.0.145...Everytime i try to update, it will say that my Xperia Neo had latest software...How can i get the software update??? Is it due to my Xperia Neo is AP handset and the original one do not land in Malaysia
??? Besides, if i buy an AP SE handset, can i still have software update???
*
Buying AP set is still eligible for the software update, as your AP set is original set from other country. If you don't get the update, that is because the region of your phone is still not updated to the latest firmware. It would take some time but if you can not wait then you can try the link I gave above. NOTE: It had its risk in getting firmware and the installation of it is not for amateur.
