Hei guys!  smile.gif
Wanna let you guys know that after following instructions by you guys and reinstalling Nitdroid,
It works! Now my N900 can multiboot with the titan kernel!

Thanks!!!  notworthy.gif

but.. now I have a new problem... I cant seem to install Angry birds from Android market?
I've followed the frontpage instructions to fix android market. it works,
but when I choose and download applications, in the end it says install unsuccessful.
What's wrong?  sad.gif I tried another application like fruit slice.. and it works.
BTW, I install Nitdroid at MicroSD card.

Help?  icon_question.gif
*
Angry Birds requires some trick to be installed in NITDroid.
You need to unmount the microSD & launch the .apk file from NITDroid's root location.

QUOTE(jananan @ May 11 2011, 05:35 AM)
i think the crowd has divided into 2 groups, Maemo-NITdroid dual boot and Maemo-Meego dual boot.

and NITdroid kernel implementation using u-boot is stuck.

i've given up Meego... since Nokia has given up... and i think Intel will follow soon.

Intel seems more interested in Android now... Meego is like the distant future, very distant...

Going to try N12 UMay later... haven't experimented on NITdroid for a while now.
*
I did ask eyes that day on whether he wants to develop new kernel supporting u-boot but he said this is not a priority.Which in my opinion is reasonable decision.

MeeGo is pretty much dead without a major handset maker support. But it won't stop people like us to have fun with it biggrin.gif

Anyway I installed new NITDroid last night (no issue with kernel power 47) & I can see that there are some improvement on performance & stability side.

^ doh.gif I thought he asked whether other users do calibration from time to time.
If you do calibration from the settings,I recommend you guys to try few times before getting the precise touch.

Maybe Maemo users should team up & hack Nokia server like Sony's Playstation Network.
Then they'll know that are not that gullible.

Well...things like this happens...Just accept it (after cursing the thief as much as you can) then move on.

@vaizard
No need.
PR 1.3 file -> Is for root format
Vanilla file -> Is for the eMMC
Both these file will only modify phone memory & will never modify SIM memory.

"Missing display image" shows in your N900?
Could be corrupted PR1.3 file
Re-download the file & try flashing

QUOTE(jananan @ May 15 2011, 06:50 PM)
mount your android partition - blk1 = microsd / p5=partition no, yours might be different

'mount /mmcblk1p5 /and'

then 'cd /and' to go to the mounted path

then 'rm -rf' to delete everything there

unzip the n12_umay.tar.bz and you will get n12_umay.tar

and while you still are in /and folder run 'tar xvf n12_umay.tar'

then dpkg -i the nitdroid kernel rc3

but i tell you, rc3 kernel something wrong...
*
I think it's safe to assume that most of the "regular" users will only make 1 additional partition & they'll install NITDrroid to mmcblk0p5.
I do think rc3 kernel have some issue. In theory Android 2.3 should be able to run in N900 without any lagging while OC-ed up to 850MHz/1GHz.But there are still some lagging & other minor issues lingering with UMay12.
I still think v0.0.8 is the smoothest released yet.

Unfortunately I cannot test NITDroid for 1.I'm testing kernel power v47 now since lots of people complain about it's stability & battery issue.
For me kernel power v47 has been very stable. No crash from OS or any application.I played entire 1h 45minutes avi(divx codec) & it played without any issues and also battery life was ok while playing the video.
So far my N900 has last 3 1/2 days with moderate usage.Still 20% of the battery left.

^hmm.gif Mine don't have such problem. My NITDroid did crash 2-3 times but that's it.It'll boot up without much issue after that.
Did you install any other extra kernel?

Haha...It's nice to see people think out of the box to solve the .apk instalation issue.
You did the correct thing.
To run .apk file from NITDroid copy the files to Android application folder.I prefer to put the .apk & run it from /data/app
Also I prefer using Root Explorer over Astro File Manager.Sometimes Superuser won't grant root access for Astro File Manager hence causing me some problem.

Dont know?

The things is, I tried installing Aldiko & AngryBird .apk files, but both failed to install,
Then I tried installing Root Explorer .apk files, guess what? It works!

Apparently some .apk files just works and some don't?

Super Evil Alien, even with Root Explorer, I still cant copy or move .apk files to the root folder!
Weird... or is something wrong with the version of Nitdroid on my N900? rclxub.gif
*
Something to do with the superuser ermission I think.
Which version of NITDroid are you using & which application are you trying to install?

QUOTE(Bushido @ May 18 2011, 12:36 PM)
Guys, if all goes well today, i will join you guys as a N900 owner/user. smile.gif

But a question.. if i port Android into my N900, is it running stable? Because i would need whatsapp to work on my N900. sad.gif then it'll be better than my iPhone!
*
Whatapp works but you may need to thinker with the country code to make it work.

QUOTE(mashimarow @ May 18 2011, 02:30 PM)
why goes all the trouble to make N900 run android for an apps?
isn't that better to get an android phone straight away...
*
Proof of concept.
For me I'm using NITDroid not because of whatsapp but just to see how well will android run in unofficial device.

now only venturing into the working life, still need to look for jobs, no money, how to get rx8.
sifu, it seem like you are getting more pro in photo taking.

just out of the box (SORRY SEA), sifu which one is better since you are in the industry for quite some times now.

experience vs. phd.
which one better?
*
If you plan to become a practicing engineer then experience > education.
My brother has masters in mechanical engineering but he said for his work he don't use much of what he studied.Mostly all trial & error.
Other engineering job are more or less similar.
If you plan to become lecturer one day then go ahead & continue for Phd.
My brother never interested in becoming lecturer but continued his studies after his degree because in his opinion it'll be hard to continue studies after you start to work.
