i think that the photo quality is quite good even at your desktop. But yes, the Nokia E6 screen makes the pic look extraordinary.

I find it laughable to find fixed focus on any E series phone that is supposedly a business phone. How to take picture of document with fixed focus? That's the reason why I am thinking of ditching mine other E series.

it depends. Not every business users will take a camera shot of documents.

Same like video call. Many feel that a phone e.g. Blackberry or some Android phone at its disadvantage when there is no front camera but how many of them actually use that feature?

Anyway, i personally feel that those who are seriously looking into a phone which is catered for business should not even look at this phone.

The Nokia E6 is more like a all rounder phone. It covers everything in general but not specialized in anything.

This issue actually has already been raised and they are actually looking into it. But like what ViraVira said, all rounder phone. I guess the E series no longer can be categorize solely for business phone anymore. Seems like more of all rounder phone now.

I don't know about others but for my work, if I see any interesting product or if some pass me a name card, I seldom take out a pen and paper to write anything. I just use the camera to take a photo and view it at my pleasure when back in the office. Hence for a phone at this price and for business, fixed focus is laugable.

Looks like they have done little to resolve the battery life for S3 smartphone. I'm still experiencing massive battery drain, just like my N8 and C7. Had it not because of the bigger battery capacity, I won't even have 30% left now.

Just using for couple of short calls, bout 20 minutes of surfing. Interval email checking is 30 minutes. I don't know why the data keep on going despite already set the interval for email. Manually disconnect data with RED key but it will run almost immediately in less than 5 seconds.

Added on July 16, 2011, 4:03 pmI think I found what is the problem. Stupid Whatsapp ...

For me, Whatsapp and Gravity are the two most battery draining app in Symbian3 phones. Plus email syncing, but that could be minimized, so not too much of a problem there.

Still, I'm using Nimbuzz, Whatsapp, browser a lot over wifi since this morning, and yet, the battery still full. Really shocking TBH, must be the frugal battery usage of the small screen and the large, hero battery plays a role here.

Currently testing apps for compatibility with E6. Fmobi (IMHO, the best FB client on E6 now), Opera Mobile, Nimbuzz, Whatsapp works well with no issue, apart from the small display of course. Plus, the touch n type nature of E6 really helps a lot in navigating around the app. Really felt natural in hand.

I can feel inserting my main SIM here, and using my N8 solely for media creation + consumption laugh.gif

I thought Whatsapp does not have to be switched on to recieve messages?

I have Whatsapp and I never bother switching it on and don't have people sending me message to it either. Is that the reason why I never experience shorter battery life even after I installed Whatsapp?

Demm, the browser keep reposting my posts laugh.gif

Anyway, yep, Whatsapp doesn't have to be running to receive the message.

Whatsapp is forever running FYI. Nokia internet conenction stays active for Whatsapp and kills the battery. >.< Even the largest capacity battery by Nokia @ 1500mah is very very bad if you're running whatsapp on Symbian devices. doh.gif

Yes, whether or not whatsapp is running or not, there seem to be a background service that will keep activating data connection. When I was posting earlier, it keep running. But now check again, it activate data connection, run for a few seconds then stop liao. But it did not kill the data connection. I wonder if inactive is same as having it turned off. Gonna ask Nokia later.

Not sure what you wanna show there. Try activate whatsapp and see if the data comes on automatically or not lor. I killed whatsapp also it still connect. You can goto Connection Manager to see which app activate the data what. Try switch if off by long press the RED disconnect key and see if it on data again (quite fast, 10 to 15 seconds).

even with 1650mAh or 1900mAh, some of the phones can't even reach 2 days (moderate use) which is a shame.

So for Nokia E6, i find the battery life to be decent unless it is caused by some apps which is not optimised for battery saving.

Nokia really never tried the pouch. Once being fit to the pouch, I can barely hear the ringtone and feel the vibration.

I think that the ringtone volume is already not loud enough even when the speaker is facing you. Surprisingly, the music playback (when listening to songs) is very loud.

the idling power consumption on the E6 are about same as the N8 which:

1. ~7mA if idling without any data connection
2. ~30mA if idling with data connection

so the only advantage here would be the 25% extra battery juice that make the different... so if your normal usage on N8 is 16 hours then the E6 will last u 20 hours with same usage.

The cool things I've found so far would be the keypad really make a different during typing as in full touch device u have tto force into the typing screen when typing but with E6 the screen still stay as it is when u doing typing... thumbup.gif

Garmin XT will distort if you choose 3D in Maps setting, but if u choose North Up it will can be use.

Most of (i can say all) apps will only in Landscape mode and the orientation rotation are NOT active at all in all the apps (even the music album listing)

The left side widget are something new as it will reserve at all HS and the bottom box reserved for phone/sms event notification.

Lots of S3 apps and widget not working on the E6 correctly, below some of it:

1. Nokia Reader, the widget will show as the apps itself, and when u open it the display only fit partial of the screen.
2. Accu. Weather, the widget will not fully fit into the widget frame, u will get a mini widget
3. Pocketlock, not working as it seem the E6 approx sensor I/O are different from N8
4. Garmin, the map view will distort if u view in 3D mode, the apps won't fully stretch into full screen
5. 3rd party apps icons are not all in round shape as of all the Anna default apps icons, not so nice with some apps icon in rectangle shape
6. Both AntSnes and gpsp emulator are working flawlessly, only the main gui distort a bit

so that's all the finding so far... icon_rolleyes.gif

Added on July 16, 2011, 10:57 pmlots of the performance gain i only can say would be due to the Anna update... 1 thing very obvious are the Anna seem keep on refresh and clean up the RAM in background and will unload those apps that been put in background this make the 256MB RAM seem run smoother compare with current S^3... this make me really looking forward Anna on N8... drool.gif

Added on July 16, 2011, 11:19 pmdamn... really loved the navigation button as directional keypad in the emulator... rclxm9.gif
