Oh like that? Okay, I need to plan my travel method now. Being without any form of transport sux yo! laugh.gif

It seems like all choose E6 maa? For me myself, I'm a self professed QWERTY keyboard junky (The only reason I managed to endure the horrid N97 for few months before giving it up). And phones to me is a communication device first, so good battery life is a must, awesome Email support, that delicious keyboard again (I just love it! laugh.gif), great screen so on and so forth.

So its E6 for me laugh.gif

1 question, for all E6 current user, does Qt apps scale up nicely to the screen? Just curious...

TIA icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm not one to back up crazy claims. I doubt it can go a whole month without charging. For my usage (30 messages a day, no more than 1 hour worth of calls), I'd say it would last about 3 days tops.

1 month is probably a lab study, no radio signals, on power save mode. (Btw, E6 has a power save mode that will shut off vibra and lower brightness to increase batt life when batt is below 10%, cool).

But I'm more concerned with the ease of use and OS.

Just got my E6-00 yesterday. So far I'm impressed (by the OS changes and ease of use)

Only gripe I have is that the 3G seems to be ON all the time, no matter what I do. Strange.

Currently using Nokia E6-00. Briefly, I have to say that the QWERTY is as good as it can be for a phone this size. One problem, the phone is quite slippy, but its very minor.

All in all, a great phone by Nokia, solid all rounder. I really need to write a proper review to give this phone justice laugh.gif

E6 screen surely a step up by Nokia. Especially when compared to my N8 before. My only gripe? The light sensor is too sensitive laugh.gif

And my god, loving the keyboard more and more. Its that awesome!

Looks like they have done little to resolve the battery life for S3 smartphone. I'm still experiencing massive battery drain, just like my N8 and C7. Had it not because of the bigger battery capacity, I won't even have 30% left now.

Just using for couple of short calls, bout 20 minutes of surfing. Interval email checking is 30 minutes. I don't know why the data keep on going despite already set the interval for email. Manually disconnect data with RED key but it will run almost immediately in less than 5 seconds.

Added on July 16, 2011, 4:03 pmI think I found what is the problem. Stupid Whatsapp ...

Checking every seconds...

For me, Whatsapp and Gravity are the two most battery draining app in Symbian3 phones. Plus email syncing, but that could be minimized, so not too much of a problem there.

Still, I'm using Nimbuzz, Whatsapp, browser a lot over wifi since this morning, and yet, the battery still full. Really shocking TBH, must be the frugal battery usage of the small screen and the large, hero battery plays a role here.

Currently testing apps for compatibility with E6. Fmobi (IMHO, the best FB client on E6 now), Opera Mobile, Nimbuzz, Whatsapp works well with no issue, apart from the small display of course. Plus, the touch n type nature of E6 really helps a lot in navigating around the app. Really felt natural in hand.

I can feel inserting my main SIM here, and using my N8 solely for media creation + consumption laugh.gif

Added on July 16, 2011, 4:33 pmWow, the E6 light sensor sure very senstive. One time, its just dimmed to the lowest, and all of a sudden, its just BAM! Max brightness!

Demm, the browser keep reposting my posts laugh.gif

Anyway, yep, Whatsapp doesn't have to be running to receive the message.

The main reason I'm choosing this over X7? The godly QWERTY keyboard, the hi res screen and the fact that apart from the screen and the speaker, X7 brings nothing new to the table. Its like an enlarged C7 IMHO laugh.gif

I think this time, I made the right call

For mine, the torch works as I hold the lock toggle on homescreen till the phone vibrates. And vice versa.

I have to admit that the battery life for Nokia E6 is quite poor if push email is activated.

This is the 3rd time I am charging my phone within 24 hours. Well it is still early to conclude because I am now trying again with power saving mode activated. Hopefully it will at least bring the phone alive for at least a day.

Note:
1st charge - 3am
2nd charge - 1pm (at this point, I've deactivated FSecure because I suspected that it is depleting the battery faster than usual).
3rd charge - 12:45am (at this point, I've activated power saving mode. No background app is running but push email is still going on).
*
Yep, I do believe the pseudo-push email is depleting the battery quite fast. Its happened before on my N8, and I believe its the same for E6.
Have you tried changing the retrieval frequency in the setting? In my N8, that is helping with my battery life. A lot.
That to be said, my E6 battery still going strong after a day worth of usage (Over Wifi). Only 1 tiny bar depleted for now. Maybe I didn't push it hard enough? laugh.gif

not able to see any other code clearly.
By the way, I fully charged my phone at 8pm yesterday and at this point of time (7:50am), my battery is still full.

Push email ongoing; screen display at medium (middle), 2 calls (total 5 mins).

So the  culprit which drains the battery is the auto wifi scanner which was turned on by default.

Glad that your problem funally solved. How can we forgot about auto wifi scanning, thats one of the biggest battery drainer in the phone. Which turning it off is one of the first thing I done when I received my N8, C7 and E6. Cardinal sin by Nokia to leave it on by default doh.gif

Anyway, how about the battery level now? We can make a guide on battery preservation based on your experience icon_idea.gif

Yep, I do agree. E6, by far one of themost slippery phone I've used. Still, the QWERTY goodnes just too much to let go. Especially after my N8 being relegated as my media creation + consumption device, my E6 being the primary phone. And the newest addition in my gadgets family, Samsung Galaxy Tab as my Web 2.0 + reading device.

Yep, I finally embraced Android OS. Still, IMHO, this gonna be the next Symbian.

guys..help me.

i am planning to buy this phone, but i read from one of the review said the phone is quite slow because only have 256MB ram, it should be 512MB for that kind of phone... is it correct? is it that slow?  icon_question.gif

can anyone who are using or have used this phone give some comment please...  notworthy.gif

Don't worry, if one thing for sure, this phone really flies! Especially after the latest Nokia Belle update.
If you need the keyboard, in a Blackberry-esque form factor, with long battery life, and zippy interface, I'd say go for it!

Doesn't change a damn thing about E6. It make it even worse right now. Although there are now widgets to toggle on/off some setting plus email, just too freaking small to be useful. Instead, the Homescreen got even smaller (should I say bigger) because you lose the side notifications, time/date, profile setting plus 12 icons for just 8 icons.

Was hoping that they had something special for E6 but just like the other. Wasted the PPI.

As much as I want to disagree with you, I really have to say that Nokia really dropped the ball with Belle customization. What a waste of screen estate! Everything feels too cramped, not till the point of unuseable realm tho, but still, very jarring.
