I sense more like a reverse take over of Nokia by microsoft...

Is Nokia really that financially capable?
This is something like Najib trying to buy Man Utd.

Woops.Just reread his comment.
I guess Microsoft is capable of buying Nokia.

Already people are accusing Elop as trojan horse in Nokia laugh.gif

We're watching the Nokia we know die right now.

My suggestion? Switch to Android. The MWC is happening in a few days time and you'll see lots of new Android phones announced. Only bad thing is that I think none will have 12MP cameras, but there will be many with 8MP.

Windows Phone 7

Key features:
Premium mobile OS (high minimum hardware requirements)
Clean, uncluttered interface with distinctive design language
Easy and thumbable user interface
Smooth operation with cool animations and transition effects
A fresh start with no legacy support needed
Backed up and developed by one of the largest software companies in the world
Excellent MS Office mobile implementation
Top-notch social integration
Excellent cloud services integration (SkyDrive, Windows Live, Xbox Live)
Wireless syncing of multimedia content
Internal memory expandable via microSD card slot (where available)

Main disadvantages:
No system-wide file manager
No videocalling
Limited third-party apps availability
No Bluetooth file transfers
No USB mass storage mode
No multitasking
No copy/paste
Too dependent on Zune software for computer file management and syncing
No music player equalisers
No Flash or Silverlight support in the web browser
No sign of free Bing maps Navigation so far
No DivX/XviD video support
No internet tethering support
New ringtones available only through the Marketplace
Swapping memory card requires hard reset; cards not readable by computer

Seriously Nokia? I mean Symbian could have plenty of issue but at least it can do majority of stuff listed in WP7 disadvantages.

From throwing fuel to their platform now they are throwing C4 at their platform.

This is what happens when you hire an American from Microsoft to take over your company. I bet Stephen Elop doesn't even know how to use a Symbian phone. shakehead.gif

This is just calm before storm. There will be Financial Briefing later where Stefan "Trojan" Elop will present the full plan. And then there is MWC on 14/02.The should be couple more bombs there.

Already Nokia share down more than 9%.

They'll have to milk symbian to recoup some of the losses ma. Means symbian3 is gonna be very low priority already.

Thinking about it, besides the camera, the basic functions of my old Diamond2 is superior and more user friendly to N8 in every way.

But really, if Nokia don't change, next year they'll really sink.

The whole symbian^3 is just a scandal to cover nokia major r&d expenditure in meego. It could b that they have ord planned to go with WP7 long ago. Where got business deal happen so sudden one? We all kena tipu 99!
