that product code is from SG N8 from the result og googling, and i recall already got people mentioned that the rangers' units are from SG, so our update are following SG also... and typically SG update are faster by weeks or months

can the NSS product code flashing work on N8? if can you guys can flash to SG firmware, nothing much differs yet faster update

social update u need to get inside the software update to check one wor, not the firmware screen... u try that and see first

@stimix: i see.. same as last time lor, i had to flash my N81 to SG product code to get v21 update, and only 2 months later that it came out for malaysia

if you scared void then better don lar, but it's the product code can easily flash back one actually...when MY PR1.1 come out just flash back to that one lor.. although if anything happen before MY PR1.1 come out u will be stuck with SG firmware, haha

nothing is really fair lar, blame the porting team only actually, since last time also SG more efficient then MY

each are handled by different software teams in their related country, SG firmware is not that different from MY, and as for my case of N81 last time, they even got time and luxury to do a Singtel custom boot animation... it's just how efficient is the software team, and apparently MY one is either slow on initiation or they just simply suck

mine is ranger set, it's already under SG product code with original warranty, so no worries on that... yesterday no time to grab the phone from my sister to update, will do it by this week....

but this PR 1.1 is nothing big, i wont do it for PR 1.1, but PR 2.0 i will for sure do it already... plus by the time PR 2.0 is out, most our warranty here apart (but maybe) from those 2 year warranty units will already be gone, so no warranty = full force itchy hand for me

i'd agree with screen res, but ram, not really.. Symbian doesnt actually use that much ram as compared to iOS or Android, mainly cos it doesnt really have heavy applications that need huge amount of ram. processor wise, it's really not even a decent one at current tech level... i personally would preferred a Cortex A9 instead, not anything about overkilling, just future proofing...

the GPU benchmark of N8 is higher then the iPhone 4, but due to the slower processor, Crusade of Destiny lags despite having way lower texture and model quality

Added on February 9, 2011, 12:09 amandroid? a lot... basically u can customize widgets on your homescreen at any place you want, not aligned by the fixed size/placing, a lot of really fun applications to play with. in comparison with Symbian as of now, the browser is a major win, the overall fluidity and responsiveness of the OS is better, more and more iOS games being ported to it, more choice of manufacturer so that you can choose which brand u want also...

basically android > symbian in many many ways, except for maybe movie playing.. i would say Android would be a much complete touch screen OS as compared to Symbian at its current state

are u comparing android and symbian? if so, then android wins both without needing to compete.. android come out with how many versions last year? while Symbian just drag drag and drag this minor update since december till now.. app also, android is catching up with iOS, while symbian is still taking its own sweet time getting more applications that doesnt seem to even keep up against iOS
