35mil for carrol. Crazy money. Torres for 50mil, still can argue got track record 60+ goal over 3 season. That bulked-up version of crouch goes for 35mil after 6 months in EPL.....think liverpool in generous mood ala CNY. Angpow for everyone.

Can anyone give me a run down on how Torres is confirmed to sign for Chelsea? I was following up till when he was spotted leaving in a car and not a Roflcopter and when i wake up at 7.30am local time, both Torres and Carroll's deal is done EDIT: Ah dont bother, i'll just scroll through Soccernet Anyway on Carroll, im not surprised at the huge transfer fee. Liverpool is in desperate measure to sign a striker to replace Torres. Theres not much room for discussion hence the high price, Heck Toons can even reject an initial 30m before settling for 35m! But put it into perspective.....Liverpool let go Torres and in return, gets 15m + Carroll. Far from the target of 40+m + Anelka they initially had in mind This post has been edited by pyroboy1911: Feb 1 2011, 05:36 AM

English. Liverpool needed more of those, or at the very least HG players since they don't really make their own players. The price is steep. 20m or around there would have been a fair price for Carroll but even then it would be viewed as expensive given that he only has 6 months experience at the top flight. But with his build and the way he plays, he can be a success IMO. In the long run provided that his form is good, the price will be seen as fair.
Liverpool have done well to get Suarez and Carroll to replace Torres and Babel. They will be a handful for defenders to face. Physical battle and non stop harrying.. defenders don't like those. Get a winger or two in the summer, and they'll be up there again. ManUtd, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Spurs, Liverpool.. best league in the world.

Obertan hands in transfer request? source» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Gabriel Obertan has stunned Manchester United by handing in a transfer request. Obertan, a £3million signing from Bordeaux 18 months ago, is said to doubt whether he can make the grade at Old Trafford. The France Under 21 winger wants to return home in the summer halfway through his four-year contract.

VDS Rafael-Rio-Vida-Evra Valencia-Carrick-Anderson-Nani Rooney-Berbatov Lindegaard/Kuszczak Wes-Smalling-Evans-O'Shea + Fabio Park-Scholes-Fletcher-Giggs + Gibson, Hargreaves Hernandez-Owen + Macheda, Welbeck(who has 6 EPL goals, playing mostly out wide) And someone says we're not happy with the transfer window? I The only thing I'm not happy about is Chelsea are stronger with their signings. Other than that, I'm sure our fans are more than happy with what we already have.

Torres Funny lah they all, first they said that if Torres goes outside BPL, they can accept. Now Torres goes to Chelsea, called Torres a traitor. Nothing more than a mercenary. And how they labeled Owen Judas, I don't know. That man went to Real which is clearly outside of PL and went back to Newcastle. Plus, they had the chance to sign him back yet they didn't. Thanks to their 'cult hero' Fara. And he signed for us, they label him as they label Torres. Pool fans, entertaining bunch.

Ahh what an entertainment. I feel like laughing at each and everyone of those pool fans who praised Torres like a god before. He was never the best player in EPL anyway
