My take on the apple / android "which is better " question.
It's basically the same as the macs vs pc's ... for people who aren't so techincally inclined, who doesnt want to tinker with their equiptment, who are satisfied with their stock equiptment, who are willing to pay a premium for something that runs as well as stated on the box, these people will b the die hard apple fans. They look onto the people who 'flash their phones' with horror.
The flip side to those people are the pc/android bunch. These guys want the extra bang for their buck; overclocking, flashing roms, hackintoshing .... everything to run a better, faster piece of equiptment for much less $$ than the previous bunch of people.
No use convincing either side the merits of each particular camp, all mainly die hard.
You guys know which camp you are in.
I agree with you to a certain extent. But that doesn't mean a layman cannot learn to tinker their phone.

guys, the phone can last for the whole day at medium usage ? is it like stupid if i get the phone now ?
Depends on what your definition of medium usage. As to mine, the phone lasts all day long. It is definitely worth it despite tegra2 phones are coming in a few months.

Have you guys experience any problems with your Bluetooth? I don't have problem pairing my phone with mu Bluetooth headsets but I can seem to use my phone to effectively transfer files to other phones.
What do you guys have to say about this?
I'll have to find another phone to test this.

haha then i must be kinda weird. i've been using Macbook for the past 3 years, but I've never really owned an iPhone myself (sharing with GF occasionally but technically not mine).
die also I won't use anything but Mac, but I'm quite happy tinkering with my SGS.
Exactly. I stop treating normal person like they cannot learn on their own discovering on how to tinker their gadgets.

First of all, I would like to thank TS for answering my questions so patiently. But I still have some doubts.
1. How can I improve my SGS speed without lossing the original UI from Samsung???
2. I heard Titanium Backup only work for ROOTED SGS. As My SGS is still with original Samsung ROM and not rooted yet. Can it really function in my SGS?
3. Does it mean if I just do Kerneling on my SGS, the apps and data in my phone won't be deleted and I don't need a backup? Does kernelling improve the speed of my apps and scrolling??
4. Do I need to backup the original ROM/ Firmware before flashing to my new custom ROM? (It Clears the doubt of Question 5 as well)
How you can help again. Many many thanks.
1. Just flash a kernel like speedmod. No need to back up or to be rooted.
2. Must be rooted for tb to function. See first post for rooting instructions.
3. Yes, no need back up. Although it is advisable to do so. Improves performance and smoothness radically!
4. No need. Stock official firmware is available online.
