amazon FR - not enough title for me at the moment and I will only use courier service for amazon FR as it is not much different in price.

amazon DE - those steelbook do look interesting on me ... but I am more concern on film quality now than packaging. I notice a lot nice packaging steelbook actually pack with lousy film... hmmm...

so far no such bad luck, unless u order some movie with naked/nude cover. never touch the "SeX" area, once u kena, u will be bad listed & they will watch all your package. i been into the CUSTOM oofice room & he got a hugh "tahan" package display there, very funny thing.

there was 1 time a JAPANESE import lots of adult mv (he thought is legal) & kena tahan.

I do order "Le Mepris - StudioCanal series" ... is that ok... hmmm...

You get from where? if from fr, would the digibook in france? (both country price seems similar, where France slightly cheaper due to currency convert)

Is both country release identical packaging? I know US is different, US is not using digibook.

I ask this as I got a title in amazon.fr (only france selling it) and if total up with StudioCanal release I plan to buy, it is worth get at amazon.fr with courier service.

wow, Bridgitte Bardot is really hot. i think sometimes depends on your luck.

when u got a single disc/shipment, custom seldom check it (it is very difficult to check as they need to tear out the package.)

for a package with few items, they always open the box & check it. but they will not cut out the plastic shield. AMZ uses plastic shield to pack all discs together, so, only the 1st disc & the last disc are visible for checking.
if u are lucky, the "controversial" disc is placed in the middle, so problem free. if just happen the "cool" disc palced as 1st disc, they might challege u. u might receive a notification letter to go & see them.

based on my experience, they are ok on violence/horror/religion movie but not sx.

so u need to include the freight, for my case, i order from uk because the freight cost / disc from UK is only RM9 but i need to pay RM18 for AMZ FRZ.

for AMZ UK, choose the cheapest postage, i believe is ROYAL MAIL. it usually take 3 weeks to arrived (dif state can't comment). i never lost/face any problem except my BANDS OF BROTHER STEEL BOX kena "bang" when arrived. the AMZ UK will refund u 17.5% VAT. the refund is just to cover your postage cost.

i think u got more experience for AMZ FRANCE & AMZ GERMAN than me. so cannot comment on the digibook.

I know UK shipping cost is cheap if using standard (I will only use only use standard also).

But I got one title in FR and FR shipping cost for standard and courier is too similar, wise I will take courier, but for only a single title, not worth take it.

i just made my 1st order from AMZ FRANCE, actually i order 4 disc, 3 been shipped out, the 4th one due to no stock, they cancel it without my approval. i am very dissapointed.

i prefer AMZ GERMAN as i just order 7 disc, freight only cost EURO14, AMZ 3 disc freight cost EURO17. however, i have not yet recieve any package, will comment later.

I read from others forum... amazon.fr can cancel people item without informing or approval one, beside this seems quite a lot packaging ship via standard being cancel as well.

Now I am thinking shall I get the Le Mepris or not... hmmm... the back cover do have her small back naked image. But I want that title lei...

Edit: ok la, I will cancel my Le Mepris, will order a box set contain 3 movies together next month call "Coffret StudioCanal Collection - Jean-Luc Godard" which include that title as well.

When Malaysia going officially sell Region FREE player? or having service like in USA where you can modified a region locked player to be region FREE.

I am tired on region checking and they is plenty of foreign film (not English, I mean France, German and etc) is region B locked.

Haizz.... at least give me a Region A + B BD player is fine. ... when ... when this will coming! At least when friends surrounding me is gonna changing to BD instead still watching / purchasing DVD... once BD is common, then I believe those cheap cheap region FREE BD player will appear!

Hope France country at least add-in English subtitle for all their BD title, 99% of it now only have France subtitle.. hmmm.... and also stop hard print the France subtitle... I had no idea my planning to purchase Fr BD is hard print France subtitle or not.... hopefully not.

But Oppo price is a bit ridiculous... anyway may I have the contact and address.

Some already get the Taxi Driver earlier and he confirm is US release, from the packing shot, it seems same/similar packaging with France Edition.
Can't wait it release, hope as soon as possible getting it.

some sharing...

i used to invest in disc only, not pay much attention on the player & media. however later i noticed the home theater quality should go in line with the disc collection, cause no matter how great your disc is, u also need a very good home theater system to fully present it out.

just think this way, although a good player might cost u RM2K to RM3K, u can consider expensive, but if the good player can produce say 10% better quality for the disc & u got 300 disc, it means it only cost u RM10/disc for improving all your collection.

i upgrade from LCD 42 to PLASMA 60 & now to HD PROJECTOR, I would say it worth every penny although i gave up lots of travelling.

imagine when u watch LOTR3 battle of middle east on a large screen with HD, the impact is & watching Angelina Jolio in ORIGINAL SIN UNRATED at big screen

take your time & step by step to upgrade, 1st the player, then the Screen

Understanding, is those expensive player do given better PQ? I never though of invest expensive player as I know laser head never last longer, 2nd I don't own any HT yet, so at the moment I only preferable on PQ, I never so high demand in audio also, I more and need on visual.

Now I only have a 32inch & 40inch LCD, just recently invest, less than a year, maybe in future I may upgrade to more bigger size, but not at the moment.

HD Projector do cool, but I don't think I can invest on it due to the bulb issue, I not sure how long it last.

Since you use HD projector, may I know how long it last for the bulb? How costly per bulb?

i am using OPTOMA HD86, bulb will last 2000 hours, so only 1000 movies, based on my average usage, i guess it will last 3 years. after that, i might need to pay RM2k for a new bulb.

the tactics is DO NOT buy the new HD PROJECTOR model, wait till when a new one to replace an old one, grab the good old one at bargain $, u already save more than u need for the replacement bulb.

i got my HD86 when HD87 came out, so i grab it at a very reasonable $.

if u do not want projector, i encourage u to switch to HD PLASMA 60" at very reasonale $. i prefer plasma produce very good "FILM LIKE' feel than the "DIGITAL FEEL" by LCD & LED. u would not need the TRUE HD MOTION if u are into movie with 24FPS.

Not steelbook. More like Back to the future type of packaging.
