Awesome ..awesome..awesome stuff. Your dad owns any LD? Any differences in terms of PQ & AQ comparing to BD technology?
*
BD technology is a good successor to LD as VCD and DVD was never a good replacement for LD . The PQ and AQ of a BD is definitely better than a LD . I enjoyed watching LD during the 90`s but the BD technology is exciting and access to movies are more than then time LD `s was the technology .Unfortunately during that time we had the LD player the LD `s were so expensive and we were only able to rent them. The size of the LD was also huge and was prone to damage . I hated flipping the disc to watch the 2nd part of the movie as sometimes the movies are long and needed more space . Bd`s resolved many of the issue that LD`s had . I prefer BD`s anytime over LD`s .

I, once saw a demo of LD movie , i think it was Titanic..at Sungei Wang.
Was happy with Video presentation but it was way far from affordable.

Yeah , really pricey and not many movies available here . The store we used to rent from had hundreds of title all imported . They close down a few years back after pirated DVD`s invaded the market .

Elizabeth / Elizabeth: The Golden Age Blu-ray Double Feature

Available for pre-order at $19.99

Elizabeth Blu-ray

This is the England of 1554, but the veneer of traditional English composure and dignity has been stripped away. The British populace is in turmoil. Fearing a challenge to her throne, Queen Mary I imprisons her half-sister.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age (Blu-ray)

Growing keenly aware of the changing religious and political tides of late 16th century Europe, Queen Elizabeth finds her rule openly challenged by the Spanish King Philip II

  • Match Point (2005)
  • Scoop (2006)
  • Amazing Grace (2006)
  • Golden Age (2007)
  • Fred Claus (2007)
  • Cemetery Junction (film) (2010)
  • Little Fockers (2010)
Television he had worked on,

  • Sleepers (1991 TV series)
  • Wide-Eyed and Legless (1993 TV movie)
  • Cold Lazarus (1996 TV miniseries)
  • Emma (1996 TV film)
  • Arabian Nights (2000 TV miniseries)

Watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang recently.

Movie :
Decent flick. Slightly long, but my 8yr daughter loved it. My 5 yr old son, was a little restless. Songs were fun. The middle of the story was rather long winded, but its from a different era anyway.

PQ:
Excellent transfer. Grains preserved but not overly so. Details fantastic. Colours bold. 4.5/5 for sure

AQ:
The beginning of the movie starts with no picture but the sound of cars moving around ur room using all the 7.1 speakers in ur system. Really good panning. AQ is top notch. 5/5 for sure. Songs are well done, did not hear any distortion. I did hear a slight hiss if I bump up the volume close to reference, but thats about it.

Just watched the 5th episode of Band of Brothers.

I bought from Amz UK... just wondering is the AQ tranfer rate averaging 2.1mbps only? I believe it's quite low for current DTS HD MA standard.

Watch 1 episode of Spartacus and really wonder why is it so highly rated. It look like some budget movie with lots of computer editing and some softcore porn too. Not even near what I expect.
