Just completed watching The Expendables.

Movie:
Guns, guns, guns, bombs, knifes, bombs, guns, guns and did I say guns....This is one movie that bores u for about 5 mins when Stallone and Statham slow down to look at the countryside and the guys chat a little. Non stop action, from the start, explosions and more action. The guys hv good chemistry. Stallone and Statham especially but again there not too much banter. The movie moves at almost 100km/h from the start slows down as I said for about 5 mins then picks up again. Willis and Arnie make guest appearances and are great. JetLi's actions are nice to watch. Leave ur thinking caps somewhere else when u watch the movie becoz

Details are solid. Pictures are great. No DNR stuff...The only complaints if any are the black levels seems fall short for some scenes. But all in all a 4/5 or so.

AQ
Need I say more, LFE is to die for. The score itself has some deep bass moments. The explosions are close to perfect. They go deep and loud. The bigger the guns the deeper the LFE. My only complaints are that some dialogue is unclear, some of Rourke's lines and Stallones. Now, I'm not sure if its the mix as Stallone especially is known to mumble dialogue so thats the only negative. The dialogue is not drowned out by the constant LFEs its just that some of the guys don't seem to be clear on some scenes. 4.5/5

Enjoyable and fast paced.

Just tested my "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" in my Sony BD-S370 and it was playing fine without any issue.

This means the disc is nothing wrong, possibility compatibility with Samsung BD-C5500 player.

Watch 1 episode of Spartacus and really wonder why is it so highly rated. It look like some budget movie with lots of computer editing and some softcore porn too. Not even near what I expect.

For such type TV series, I think it considered quite good, at least I found it more entertain than Rome.

I watch it before at cinema, "The Expendables" is a great in actions movie, story wise just so so, acting is good except Stallone............ sorry I can't stand his acting, his acting is fake all the while.

Do action stars really need good acting? Sly is one of the best known action stars back in the 80s... nobody tops him; maybe Schwarzenegger came close. Apart from his other great action flicks, Cop Land is one of his better dramas in the late 90s.

But nothing tops this; my first movie of Sly... before he became popular with action flicks:

Disney’s latest animated film now has a date scheduled for Blu-ray with the March 29th release of Tangled and Tangled 3D. Tangled with no doubts , would be a big seller on Blu-ray and a key title for Blu-ray 3D in 2011. Shortly after we get a real treat with a new Pixar release with The Incredibles on Blu-ray April 12th.

Add that to the upcoming classic animation releases Alice in Wonderland on February 1st and then Bambi on March 1st.

Guys,

Just want to share with you that there is really some great bargains with Amazon.uk currently. Batman series, The Mummy and Pirates of the Carribean is really at great value. Total 10 movies (4 Batman, 3 Pirates and 3 Mummy) - at around RM270 including shipping. That is around RM27 per movie - almost equivalent to those "illegal" version

I went to Speedy at Mid Valley - it cost an average RM99 per movie. Some at a discounted price at RM79.90

I am crazily addicted with Blu-ray; just about 1 month after purchasing a blu-ray player, I already owns more than 11 movies titles - all bought from Amazon.com or Amazon.uk.

Now need to think of getting a good Blu-ray Rack for all my collection. Any suggestion?
