if comes to comfort level.... hmm.... tho many ppl complaint about HD661 heating earpad and deadly clamping force... for me it has the softest earpad among 3 of em.. jus the size of my ear is a lil bit too big to fit into the "hole"... so feel abit pain when wearing HD661 for long hours...
for HD668b... the famous deadly clamping force is really a true fact.. but it can be easily overcome by creating custom earpad (which i shown b4 in tis thead) or jus spend 5~8 hours to stretch it on some object... like paperbox or something else.. thn the force will gone ~ comes to HD681, it has the perfect size of "earhole" (or wat so ever) and comfortable yet tight clamp on the head.. the oni downside is that the heating earpad.. well also can be "cure" by custom earpad~~ to be honest~ if wan good noise isolation and stylish design, HD661 fits tat.. if u wan nice clarity and have a nice DAC, HD668b for sure is the best for u... finally, if u jus step into the audiophile world... and wanted to enjoy mucis a little more rather than using those cheap and lousy free gift earphone.. HD681 tats it.. i confirm it can surely brings u into the world of music in no time!! Added on February 24, 2012, 10:45 pmwell a question from me here... if i cover the holes behind the driver of HD668b for DIY closed cans... will it damage the drivers?? Added on February 24, 2012, 10:48 pmjus tried... the bass improved A HELL LOT!!!! i can feel my ear shaking inside the cans... but then i scare tis will damage the driver... any pro can tell me will covering the holes can cause damage to the driver? Added on February 24, 2012, 10:56 pmwell i added a round of lousy made sponge around the earpad... feels more comfort and seems it helps to "trapped" the sound from leaking...XD feel alot diff than original form~ This post has been edited by sosot000: Feb 24 2012, 10:56 PM |

Wont. Its like a closed can then. Bass increased coz no leakage thru the holes. But u will lose some of the dynamic u gained from the open holes.

Its quite expensive~ Im looking for cheaper alternative now. I dun think it is economically wise to buy a pair of pads that cost almost the price of the cans rite?
