Superlux Fan Club's First Thread!

Who is Superlux?

The story started 60 years ago: Pan Chien-Yeu’s father built China’s first condenser microphone for his radio station after studying in Germany. Pan learned from his father and graduated with BSEE from Chau-Ton University. Pan has 45 years of electroacoustics professional design experience. It was 26 years ago that David Liu started to manufacture microphones. When David and Pan met in 1996, the best design and hands-on experience and the best quality mass production collaborated.

Together with all kinds of talents: mechanical , electrical , material , work-in-process, administration, computer science, RF engineering, visual communications, sales, . . . A team of determined people works around the clock, and after years of efforts, here we have created the products for the audio industry with the best sound performance from and the reasonable price - Superlux - products that let you play your music without overloading your budget . For OEM customer, Goang Fann provides from design to manufacturing services to meet the demands, from name brands to customized contracting installation projects.

True sound is the real value of Superlux products. Reasonable price is vital not only for budget limits, but also important for competitive business operations. Industry standards are the guidelines to Superlux from design to products. Discipline to follow the standards sets a strong foundation. We value your music, your sound, and your business. When you choose Superlux products, you can just play your music. There are no burdens to your sound quality, no burdens to your financial considerations.

We love music, we enjoy listening, and we are proud to be part of music creation. More music, more fun.

Modifications
Many thanks to iamyuanwu for collecting these mods articles.

Tissue mod (Timar from Head-fi) for comfort (and slight bass improvement):
http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/485039...15#post_6686675

Earfonia Foam removal mod (Audiophile-Indonesia forum):
Remove the foam covering the driver to increase aggressiveness & detail. I have no idea what that dude is saying most of the time. You could replace it with baby wipes or pantyhose. Keep the sticker, don't remove it.
http://www.audiophile-id.com/index.php?top...22599#msg222599

Heliharris mod (Rockgrotto forum)---aluminium ring and end cap mod for HD681. I guess it would work for 668B too. I just loaded the 668B with a LOT of blu-tac.
http://rockgrotto.proboards.com/index.cgi?...iew&thread=5378
http://rockgrotto.proboards.com/index.cgi?...4559&post=57092

PinkFloyd's 4 Pence mod (variations: 4 Euro mod, RM0.40 sen mod, SGD 1 dollar mod). For "sweeter highs and have others have said, more air around instruments. Bass seems a litte tighter [...]"
http://rockgrotto.proboards.com/index.cgi?...4769&post=59472
I just used a knife tip to pop off the Superlux logo cap, applied some paper glue onto a 20 sen coin (I don't want to make it permanent yet), stick it onto the end cap with a tape over it to prevent it from falling out. Perhaps slightly less boomy bass, I guess. You could use blu-tac to stick the coin instead of some permanent glue.

Clausdk fish tank filter wool mod For crazy details in HD681. I will try later with cotton or whatever I can find at home. I used cotton, which reduced the bass to zero. I removed them.

thanks bro. I posted that because most people thinks that superlux just yet another china cap ayam cheap headphones that imitate branded designs.

I felt their really did their part in the driver design and etc. It doesnt matter you are listening to the music through some super expensive branded setup or just a cheap setup. What is important is you yourself enjoying your fav music and the soul in it. With superlux, ppl with tight budget can now enjoy music too. Audio shouldnt be limited to ppl with all the money to spend on high end stuff only.

I think alot of ppl spend too much time and money over analying audio instead of enjoying it.

Is the HD330 better than HD668b?
I'm rather confused by the numbering of the models and their price point. rclxub.gif

If I'm going to try a new headphone model, and especially in the budget end, I might as well go for the most expensive on offer. tongue.gif

How come no HD330 list?

HD668B & HD660 owner.

I'm now wondering the HD669 and HD330. No more budget to try them all. Aand I'm not interested in owning so many headphones, I've only got a pair of ears.

If someone buys them, lets have a TT session and audition. nod.gif

@trio,
apasal mau jual 660?

Hahaha I am selling off my 660 because of the reason you stated. Too many headphones and too little money. Need get back some cash to fund for 330. I need to test each headphones so I can recommend to fellow forumers biggrin.gif but it is very costly doing so. cry.gif and wasteful since I only have a pair of ears.

Nice bro! thanks for sharing. Actually 651 not that bad you know. But I am not a basshead. So...too bad. But its very light and portable la. And comparing bass sq and price range, its much better than those sonic gear and etc.
