anyway i have a sony a500 + 1680, I wanna buy one lens now already, but not sure for wat...this mostly would be for portraiture , like doing nice creamy, smooth, background bluring for frens or colleagues or even pc fair or even the real portrait shoots, if i ever get to go another one....

i have tought of the few below, but not sure how good....i would like the subjects to be sharp preferbly at wide open and the bokeh/backgroudn to be smooth and uncluttered

50mm f1.8 ~ aiyo
35mm f1.8
85mm f2.8
SP 90 f2.8
70-210 f4 beercan (i think this is comparable to white knight brand 70-200 f4l??)

the above few is what is under consideration lo......

hmm, I have been MIA for some time now. smile.gif
btw, i totally disagree with newbiee's opinion.
the use of GND would not help in creating the reflection.
the water will still be blur due to movement of wind.especially when it's windy season nw.
u need more light when using a faster shutter speed, so why bother using GND? hmm.gif

just my 2 cents smile.gif

Potraits?

50mm f1.8 quite ok, 35mm also quite decent.

I would recommend Cz24 for gearheads actually for portraits wakaka.

erm..yup..quite tight..if u are doing full body shots, u need to be further away...lets say in limited space with u cant back off, then 50mm is very tight..but the quality wise is very nice..value for price..but i recommend you to get that 35mm F1.8..just my opinion after using 50mm for quite sometime...very tight la.. tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

No. Even though the wind is strong, the water is blurry, but it'll still look good. Check this pic out. This is what I mean.

i think i also have such photo..lol..as while taking this pic, i noticed i cant get such nice clear reflection on the water because on slow shutter, the water surface will be blurry...the stronger the winds are, the smoother the water when u use slow shutter...from my findings, to get nice clear reflection, need higher shutter speed to stop the movement of the water wor.. like this... whistling.gif

I'm not sure, bro. Took this from a facebook fanpage. I mean that even the water is blur, the reflection will still turn out beautiful.

Codyx: Unconventional framing of the Petronas Twin Towers, not sure I like it.

ahpingko: No point also converting from RAW to TIFF unless you want to make a good backup. TIFF is just a high quality JPG without the ability to retweak your WB etc.

mintii: Nice #2! Now if only the thing on the right was not in the scene.

lanusb: For the best bokeh, get the Sony 135mm F2.8/T4.5 Smooth Transition Focus. However it will be too long for PC Fair range shooting - PC Fair is easier with a 35mm F1.8. A cheap and practical telephoto option would be the 85mm F2.8.

If u noticed, most reflection pics are taken at dawn, dusk or night...nt in daylight...
when the light is too bright, it would cover the reflection (or dark reflection will show up )
also,it depends on where the light source is from. if it's behind d mosque, impossible u can get a reflection from the angle mintii took.

well, i m nt a pro landscape photographer but dats what i learnt from experience.
reflections of lights on dark water surface is d best. other than that, it doesnt really appeal to me smile.gif

again,just my 2 cents biggrin.gif

@albert - 85mm f2.8 good? I was looking at it for its price, but its kinda....

Waiting for the Siggy 85 f1.4. Heard it outperforms the CZ in terms of sharpness wise hmm.gif

Plus A77 might come with CZ kitty lens lol.

Awesome lol.
