is a hiding house a must?as i read from your post saying that they will become timid...by the way, they need hiding house to sleep or they can just sleep w/o any hiding area?
and ah...can they keep outdoor in a cage??

Hiding house is optional..u give him.. He will tend to stay in it lor.. u dont give him..he also like tat lor.. Nothing happen.. no out door keeping.. There is a risk he will be attack by cats or any other preditor.. U wanna keep outside ..it is best u have a rigid cage with small gap only.. Must be a close top 1.. If not.. There will be a risk lor..

you can practically get everything at Daiso stores..

wire grids, baskets (as a hay rack, if you want), connectors and/or cable ties, ceramic bowls, plastic bowls (just cut away an opening and turn it upside down, to make its hide house), fleece (100% polyester).. those morning towels, can get at practically any hardware store..

get some good hay, pellets, and 1 pig or 2, bring to a full boil and leave it to simmer for at least 20 minutes before serving.. oh wai-

My hazel is givng me lots of cockstares. especially when she hears noise. Once even after flipping herself while scratching =.= Is it normal for them to only eat leaves n not stalks of hay?

Yu Wat nibble on my hand while i cuddling her just now.. not pain, but kinda sudden.. thought she will concentrate on her veges.. and she prefers to poop on places with hay + hidehouse.. think the initial setup was wrong d.. so now a bit messed up.. About the hay, since i bought a big bag from Chinchilla during his promo, i only loosen the part i need.. most of the time, i leave the leaves out.. just give the stalks... will try to give her some leaves in a paper bag now...

sungai wang, pyramid, the curve... others i dunno.. since i work in BTS, i walk to daiso at least once a week to see what kinda toys i can buy for yu wat
oh yeah, u might need brush/pan as well.. daiso got lots sizes/colors/shapes/functions..

for sg wang outlet, it is 2 floors up from the information counter.. at the arcade machine side of the building.. big red sign.. cant miss it

oxbow alfafa hay.

can start off with something like this.. i removed the bottom 6 grids to make a 1x2 second level.. didnt update my pics.. paiseh..


then just cut the coroplast according to your cage size.. if u cant find a single piece as big as your cage, can always join them together first, then shape it accordingly.. i used masking tape, and my Yu Wat never nibble on them..


then just fill in whatever accessories you might have..


as a note, i didnt use the square one as they didnt have it in stock.. but i imagined i could achieve more or less the same result using the rectangular one.. the square grid is 29.5cm x 29.5cm.. rectangular one is 26cm x 33cm.. so mine have a bit more length to it..

im not sure how they sleep, but the hay is a MUST for feed, and optional as bedding.. personally, since my Yu Wat likes to do her business on hays, i wont be using it.. maybe you will have a different result.. all GP are different, but you cant escape cleaning their pee/poop

btw, i now have her hide house on the litter pan, and she hasnt dirtied anything else.. so peaceful.. haha

Daiso also have 20x10 grids, so that you wont have extra bulging out like her cage. But still, NICE CAGE!

yeah... i only saw the long one AFTER i finished my cage.. could've cut my cost a little there.. but thanks!.. still gonna keep improving the cage design..

since u using fleece bedding better get urself a triangle toilet tray from alex liao.. If not ur fleece bedding will be soaking wet within a day.. Maybe u can raise up ur bottle a bit.. It seem to be on a lower level.. Anyway.. Nice cage.. I bet ur piggy is happy...

I juz bought a female gp from iX3rukia and let my dan dan (the other female gp) smell her and make fren. Weird thing is, dan dan tends to making rumble sound then stand on the new gp in mating position ?! Both females...how come dan dan will have the tendency to...errr...??

I separate them now for maybe few days, but will let them play together for a while tho...haha
