QUOTE(heavyduty @ Mar 10 2011, 04:42 PM) i wonder why people say malaysian SF are poor when we use MP5s..and think we should replace them with MP7s..urghh How does using the MP5 make the Malaysian SF poor? Many SF units still favor the MP5 due to its size that fits perfectly in close quarters. The MP7, as impressive as it may be, was not popular because it uses a unique, non-NATO standard cartridge. Some SF teams have chosen to switch to M4 CQBR (an M4 with a much shorter barrel) due to the extra punch it delivers. This is because body armor have become more common, even to the bad guys. In a CQB environment, you can wear any type of armor you want but getting shot in the face will still kill you. This is why SF teams practice the Mozambique drill (2 shots to the torso, 1 to the head). |

QUOTE(lulz @ Mar 9 2011, 07:01 AM) actually everything made in japan is bloody expensive, due to labor wage, the amount of sophistication in it,and the fact that unlike F-16(which Lockheed Martin outsource from everywhere all over the States),most of F-2 is made under one roof, and there's is only a handful of them to begin with.i don't buy the 'duit masuk kroni' reason because it's a real shame (to you, your family sampai la 7 keturunan) if a jap is caught songlap money.a large portion of politician/businessman/CEO who was caught end up comitting suicide my problem with F-2 is that it is a wrong platform to begin with.F-16 was never developed as a maritime strike aircraft.if one did some study on F/A-18,the USN actually reject F-16 because they cannot withstand the stress in the sea, thus the reason F/A-18,then YF-17 being brought back from dead and being develop further to become what we know as the best multirole, maritime strike,day/night aircraft ever invented. other single engine aircraft like A-4 and A-7 only existed because at that time, the software sophistication is not advance enough to develop a true multirole aircraft.thus the's the F-designation,the A-designation and the E-designation Added on March 10, 2011, 11:09 pm QUOTE(heavyduty @ Mar 10 2011, 05:42 PM) i wonder why people say malaysian SF are poor when we use MP5s..and think we should replace them with MP7s..urghh as if they even have saw the gun in close...This post has been edited by ayanami_tard: Mar 10 2011, 11:09 PM |

QUOTE(Fadly @ Mar 11 2011, 08:53 AM) Well, if you want to use that kind of logic, why not just use the .50 beowulf? Not only will you kill the target, you'll take out the guy standing behind him and also the fellow in the room next door. Heck, maybe even the guy who was standing outside the building when the shot was fired. |

Wow...haven't posted here for a while.....
anyway, I guess when it comes to bullets: Penetration: GOOD Too much penetration: NOT SO GOOD I thought the issue of thru-and thru penetration is a 100 year-old issue. That's why the US military adapted the .45 round back in the 1800s,because the .38 used then simply went through Filipino rebels when they shot them instead of stopping them dead. As said before CQB is a very closed environment,if all the bullets will penetrate too good, surely there's the issue of collateral damage? |

QUOTE(heavyduty @ Mar 10 2011, 04:49 PM) yes and the fact that MP7s are not succesor MP5s..HK UMP is...and why go for a new and unproven weapon when you can stick to the one that you love Wah! And here I thought the UMP is simply a .45 cal version of the MP5......I also heard that the UMP a straight blowback weapon? if so,wouldn't it be a step down from the roller-locked delayed blowback system of the MP5,which makes it superior to other SMGs in the first place? yep UMP was made to be as cheap and as simple as possible. it was also originally intended to use a heavier .45 ACP and .40 SW.
