QUOTE(epul @ Jan 25 2011, 10:01 AM) from NST today The bestest scenario for any military operation is an operation where there is no casualty, no weapon discharge while achieving ur objectiveMeanwhile, Zahid defended the Shipborne Protection Team commandos for not using unnecessary force in capturing the pirates. Foreign reports claimed the Malaysian commandos had treated the pirates with kid gloves. "The commandos did a good job, with minimal risk to our crew and vessel and without the loss of lives," said Zahid, hitting back at reports that the Malaysian commandos were passive, unlike their South Korean counterparts who killed eight pirates in another rescue operation. "Our mission was a success without loss of lives. All this was done without compromising the safety of the crew and vessel." QUOTE(KYPMbangi @ Jan 31 2011, 09:04 PM) We dun need dedicated attack heli if we have a good air defense system. Even USAF Apaches were grounded during the Kosovo campign due to the Serbs good air defense system. Therefore, we should invest more on mobile air defense system like the Tunguska or Tor M1QUOTE(AKace @ Jan 31 2011, 09:05 PM) If PR dun whine, we'll end up over-priced military equipments. QUOTE(Fadly @ Jan 31 2011, 10:00 PM) I disagree. Dedicated attack helicopter are Indispensible in a modern highly mobile battlefield. even a few of this may influence the outcome of a battle. Attack helis only work well against enemies with non-adequate air defense system. Wonder why our defence planners werent that worried when Thailand, SG and Indon have attack helis? And all the time, those defence companies were the one who actually trying to push their products to us, including the unproven and large Rooivalk. |

QUOTE(ayanami_tard @ Mar 9 2011, 02:29 AM) the Japs are more than capable to produce their own fighter without other assistance the F2 is another 'smart' govt project to siphon public funds into the pockets of certain politiciansand knowing their armament,it's going to be expensive as hell. remember F-2? it's essentially a F-16 with the pricetag of F-15 |

Landrover Defenders are still quite good and adequate for ATM, no need to replace them. Anyway, we also have G-Wagons and Vamtacs. If we want armored 4x4, probably the AV4 should be given a second look, but with a bit more modifications

QUOTE(FLampard @ Mar 20 2011, 07:47 PM) I am now listening to two stories I've been following the events in North Africa ever since the Tunisian revolution. I have listen and seen the news from both side as it happens on Aljazeera. And I've concluded that Ghadafi have gone bonkers and trying desperately clinging to power. Together with his son Saif, he has waged this war, militarily and propaganda war against the revolutionaries. The people of Libya are fed up with the Ghadafi family. Libya being the 3rd largest producer of oil in Africa, yet the people are poor. But Ghadafi can afford having many large palaces, women bodyguards, foreign nurses and his sons control the oil industry, can afford buying football club, paid American artists to perform for them.one, Gadaffi is not murdering civilians, he is killing the arm rebels, USA invasion will make Libya another IRQA,AFAQ, bla bla and the ultimate goal is oil, what the mainstream potrayed Gadaffi as is just brainwashing. the other side, Gadaffi is oppressing the people, squeezing every bit of money he can corrupt, violation of human rights causes the French and USA to attack Libya because well... they are the UN, they are the defenders of human rights. All evil needs to triumph is for good men to stand aside and do nothing. I dunno want to listen to who liao. QUOTE(abang @ Mar 21 2011, 12:16 AM) Betul. Orang Islam patut minta tolong kt negara2 kafir selalu kalau ada masalah. Negara Islam lain tak perlu. Best jugak kalau negara2 kafir bomb negara orang Islam lain. Dah org2 islam pun buat bodo je biler Ghadafi bunuh rakyat sendiri. Islam ada ajar ke pemimpin untuk bunuh rakyat sendiri supaya leh berkuasa?QUOTE(99FoxDemon @ Mar 21 2011, 02:16 AM) they must be still butthurt with lockerbie incident... U tell this to the families of the Lockerbie terrorist attack this is the time they can act in the name to save libyan civilian... QUOTE(wanvadder @ Mar 21 2011, 07:16 AM) Earlier on, the rebels said they don't need outsiders help. Now, we know that there is an SAS unit working together with the rebels. Also, what other current Muslim country that can send backup right now? Peacekeeping option has not been opened yet. Do wait until the UN opens the peacekeeping form, and I can assure you that this nation will apply to go for it. SAS was protecting a low level diplomat, trying to contact the revolutionaries, probably trying to offer assistance. But local revolutionaries leader captured them, after a gunfight, then told them to get the hell out of Libya. Just like Bosnia and Lebanon. We wait. Qatar agreed to send 6 jets, while UAE 12 jets, I think. The UN is only providing air assistance, to protect civilians from being massacred by Ghadafi. now, its up to the revolutionaries to defeat the army of crazy ol' Ghadafi |

I think the UN is doing a good job in targetting Libyan military installations. Theres maybe some civilian casualties, but u must wonder what those 'civilians' doing at AA guns placements, radar stations, airfield. And now, its up to the revolutionaries to defeat Ghadafi's army. And I wont lose any sleep if they hung Ghadafi and Saif al Islam on some lamp posts

QUOTE(hypermount @ Mar 21 2011, 09:39 AM) Saif is just hot air and I don't think he deserved it. it's the other sons, and one the most brutal is already dead according to tweets. Yup, the OIC seems quiet about the brutality of Bahrain, Yemen and libya ruling govt. Probably Muslims shoudl petition that this pathetic grouping be disbandedAnd now some morons are already saying it's a racist attack on Islam. Where were they the muslim nations when the civvies were slaughtered in Libya, Darfur, Rwanda and other places. You can't expect the west to get involved in every conflict in the world. The most decent country in the middle east is Israel and too bad it ain't Arab Muslim |
