Let me try d3100 + sb-900. I think it is okay for me but i have to try first then i tell you how

I mount with sb-600 , i okay with that.
*
use a short lens like 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8 to feel the impact directly.

QUOTE(ReeNz @ Feb 9 2011, 03:35 PM)
price, weight, recycle of course sb-700 can be better becoz less power output..that full power pops in the table is the max flash counts u can get for those types of battery when full flash power is used, not power perspective..flash power is indicated with the GN number, and u can see how much difference between sb700 and sb900..and that table is not complete too as it doesnt state the zoom range covered by the flashes which sb900 is totally superior..

and for Ken Rockwell, his D40 and SB600 are alwiz the best  tongue.gif
*
Thanks for the enlightening. I do appreciate that. rclxms.gif
my guess sb-900 wouldn't be a wrong choice. Save up money icon_idea.gif

hi guys

i got a question,

do u shoot in RAW, and edit in RAW first then convert it to jpeg?

or shoot in RAW, convert it to jpeg, then edit it?

i cant find any RAW editing software in my nikon software

im using the nikon ViewNX
*
Try adobe lightroom. when you shoot with RAW do a WAR with your photo test the best combination of it. till you like the photo. kind of dark room on the early era I suppose.

but sometimes I shoot in RAW and directly convert it to JPEG and give it to some1, just because I am lazy or don't have time to do that. it's tiring job seriously unsure.gif

QUOTE(TaufiqSyedMohd @ Feb 9 2011, 11:00 PM)
hi everyone,

sorry if this question have been asked before but I have searched the answer for my question here, no answer

i would like to know have anyone have changed their camera shutter lately? whats the replacement cost for it? im using D80 n my shutter count is 53k. i have done researched that if the pictures taken become soft, thats the sign of shutter needs to be replace. is it correct? the thing is, I use my camera for wedding jobs and I dont want anything happen during the job as that is my main camera besides d5000.

please help me, thanks in advance! smile.gif
*
picture become soft has no relation to shutter I suppose. it's more likely lens problem.
any1 to clarify this?

bokeh is possible if your subject is near and you zoom to the max focal length plus ur background is far away ...  whistling.gif
*
yeah I suppose 70mm will be good enough for bokeh since focal length affect bokeh.
anyway look at some sample picture taken with it. I like the sharpness.

hmm.gif I have noob question here. how do you take these picture?
how to take from this perspective?

Rumors all over~ One of those I've seen was a 16MP sensor, 6FPS, same metering sensor (2000+ pixels RGB sensor) like D7000, the same 3500FX AF system etc. < I think this one more closer...

If D800 to replace D700, it should be a D4 junior type.
1 type, 77mm for me. Only my 50mm is odd one tongue.gif.
*
QUOTE(daze @ Feb 10 2011, 12:01 PM)
filter only for the lens u have.
i only hav 77mm filters...

some lens i go no filter.
*
how about 67mm filter thread? no filter?
to which lens you guys attach CPL? and ND? UWA lens?

Tough luck, lemme check with my friend using D7000 if hers got such stains or not hmm.
I used a normal Kenko on my 67mm 18-105 previously.

To which lens attach CPL? You can attach ND or CPL or whatever filter to any lens you want. It depends on what you need.
*
QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 10 2011, 12:07 PM)
i only put UV filter on my normal zoom lens, telephoto i leave it alone.
i got CPL also but only for my 35mm/1.8 cos i had it for a long time, and lazy to buy 67mm or 77mm CPL biggrin.gif
*
that's the problem should I go for B+W or Hoya for normal zoom lens? as I don't want cheapo filter to degrade the IQ. <- heard some fellas complaining about this.

but usually CPL and ND will be attached to UWA right? as we will need wide angle for landscape and those filters especially ND works best for landscape. correct me if I am wrong.
how about CPL? good for portrait? or landscape only?

QUOTE(daze @ Feb 10 2011, 12:10 PM)
most lens are 77mm.
so 77mm CPL, ND110....(hardly use CPL, useless on my UWA, ND can be use on both my UWA & Normal zoom)
35mm & 50mm leave it with no filter.
*
CPL for 77mm
and ND for UWA?

CPL not just for landscape, can use for product shots also.
*
QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 10 2011, 12:15 PM)
I too have a CPL, but it is almost never left on my lens. Usually put on when I need it, and it is always a UV on it all the time.
*
QUOTE(daze @ Feb 10 2011, 12:16 PM)
CPL could help bring out detail in cloud...but not all UWA accept it well.
some will hav hot spot...and u'll end up having rainbow effect.
else it could use on any lens to cut off reflection on non metallic surface...etc

ND are use to increase the shutter thus longer exposure.

not sure bout usage on potrait...
*
QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 10 2011, 12:18 PM)
ND can be used for portrait, example is when you shoot at f/1.4 1/8000s but still overexposed, that is when an ND comes into play. Of course you can step down to f/2.8 or something, but if you really want the f/1.4 then no choice to use a ND filter.
*
Thanks guys your input pretty much conclude my question.
conclusion:
Grab 77mm filter for ND and CPL, don't go for 52mm and 67mm?
for the rest use UV, but don't use cheapo uv? am I correct?

u grabbing 77mm for wat lens?
thought u going to buy 18-70?
*
not now. till I have decent UWA or sigmalux then only I will grab it for the long run. tongue.gif
for the timing I will just let my lens w/o filter, or maybe UV for protection.

Ya. Better grab a normal UV filter like hoya or kenko for protection at least. You don't want to scratch you lens's front element lol.

yeah. I do think so as well.

bro CY are you suggesting me to get B+W for my 67 and 52mm diameter lens? hmm.gif

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 10 2011, 01:48 PM)
B+W also got lousy range de... It is not the brand, it is the type of filter. Get multicoat to reduce flare contributed by the filter itself. Hoya HMC for example is a reasonable filter to get if you don't want to spend for the HD or XS-Pro.
No idea about Marumi. I use a Hoya HMC for my 50mm f/1.8D. So far so good, way better than Kenko single coat I used on my kit lens back then.

My other 77mm are either HD or XS-Pro.
*
hmm.gif Thanks bro. Will put that into consideration. I think I don't want to have many filters. tongue.gif

Really? then your lens optic will degrade if you do so, isn't it?

I mean by time passing, dust coming, dust come out, being accidentally touched. isn't that degrade the lens optic?
and yeah I mention lens optic not lens IQ. shakehead.gif

at least all the dust will get stick to filter instead of directly to the lens directly. Correct me if I am wrong.
I see always clean it. hmm.gif
