Because there's no such camera that has no differences between ISO200 versus ISO3200.
*
I shoot still object with ISO 200 and ISO 3500 there is noticeable difference hmm.gif
care to elaborate what difference??

QUOTE(celciuz @ Feb 2 2011, 05:17 PM)
Wah, poison! tongue.gif.

Just noticed, you've one too! biggrin.gif Gimme 5!
True, last weekend got a show to shoot. I was thinking heck just use D90 since I need the range, when shooting more and more sian -.- The ISO performance + AF system is ~_~ compared to D700.
*
is D90 iso performance that bad?? hmm.gif thinking to upgrade but . . .
I am unable to convince myself

I would suggest you post a photo you took at ISO3200 and it appear there's no noise to you here. We can judge and see how is it like.

QUOTE(Everdying @ Feb 2 2011, 06:02 PM)
i notice earlier u talked about why should u drop from iso3200 to iso100/200 at the expense of shutter speed...
but from your exif, you could also have opened up your aperture to 5.6 instead of 8 while maintaining same shutter...and also be able to shoot at iso1600...or even double your shutter speed if u prefer.

maybe iso3200 may look like no noise, but sometimes its not the noise, but the loss of detail at higher iso.
*
higher ISO will make you loss the detail of the picture? hmm.gif
I compare it side by side in my computer however i couldn't notice any difference.

QUOTE(eddy230379 @ Feb 2 2011, 06:10 PM)
looks like the D3100 ISO performance is better than my D90 ... maybe its time for me to upgrade ... hehehe ...
*
Go for 7000 bro or D300s replacement. if your lens collection enough can go to d700/d800 also smile.gif

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Feb 2 2011, 06:25 PM)
@aldosoesilo

1) RAW or JPEG? wink.gif
2) Noise Reduction during Post Processing?
3) Picture too small, post a bigger version smile.gif
4) Post a 100% crop if you dare tongue.gif
*
RAW.
No post processing.
later I will post 100% crop I couldn't do it for now as I almost exceeding my bandwidth limitation.

Okay thanks for the suggestion I will check it later.
poor my bad eye. I can't see the diff xD

QUOTE(eddy230379 @ Feb 2 2011, 06:44 PM)
looking forward to D300s replacement ... no plan to upgrade to full frame cos the lens prices will definitely kill me ... i only have DX lenses ... Nikkor 16-85 & Tokina 11-16 ... the only full frame lens i got is the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 that just went haywire recently ...
*
hahaha.. yeah bro. I am looking forward for body upgrade as well. currently confuse between d7000,d90 and wait for d300s replacement tongue.gif

what about sb700 latest market price now days??
*
35mm 770
sb700 1k? I think so hmm.gif
which one you should get 1st depends on your need. if it is possible go for flash gun as you will learn more about lightning. <- the essential element of photography. smile.gif
I awe photog who can do CLS perfectly. notworthy.gif

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Feb 3 2011, 01:23 AM)
If you're viewing the image so small, even digital camera quality looks good....

When you bump up the ISO, definitely you will notice noise/grain, just how acceptable it is at which ISO; hence, the acceptable ISO for each camera.
Noise/Grain will affect the detail of the picture, as well as the sharpness.
If you're viewing on the computer, try zoom larger and you will see all the ugly details. Maybe later as you have seen more, you will be able to see the loss of details without the need to zoom larger.

Proper exposure is also important, wrongly expose will generate more noise/grain even you shoot at lower ISO compared to picture shot at higher ISO properly exposed. Hence, why some people complain about the poor ISO performance VS the rated performance.

Added on February 3, 2011, 1:24 am

35mm f/1.8G DX, you can get around RM760+/-

SB700, RM950~RM980?
*
Hmm.. yeahh.. I notice that. but isn't that acceptable to get noise when you zoom it?
I mean it's not noticeable difference isn't it? hmm.gif
I should practice more I suppose. rclxm9.gif

Sigmalux gives nicer image quality at biggest opening thanks to the aspherical element inside. smile.gif

tried both?
so confirm a Sigma 50mm 1.4 is better compare to nikkor one? haha..
just wait a little more la bro. go for 50mm 1.2 instead of sigmalux.

since you are rich fella.

if ur in a tight budget the 18-70 will do very well ... only advantage of the 16-85 is the wider range & the longer focal length ... not forgetting the VR2 ... but sharpness wise i would say both of them are the same ... but the 18-70 has a better aperture range ...
*
IQ-wise?
any idea where can I get 1870? as it is discontinued?
is 1870 has VR? hmm.gif how much does 1685 cost?
