It is Amex Gold charge card, not Amex Gold credit card. doh.gif

We were talking about complimentary FREE access to airport lounges with no strings attached. If you refer to complimentary entries with conditions (like air tickets must be booked via the respective cards with specific amount), there are many more offering this such as OCBC Titanium.

as previously get advise that apply RHB travel card for petrol rebate.

is is worth to apply? due to anual fees need to pay, mean it actually rebate to cover up the 2% only

any other good choices of card for me to apply which more on
petrol(shell) rebate/point, travel(going bali mid if year) rebate/point.

my anual income is 25k +- only
*
why not going to ambank carz?
also 2% for all petrol station.
but its free for life (no conditions attached). so u save rm70/year. min salary is rm24k/year (u qualified).
and ambg give rm50 cash to new cust (must spend rm350 within 2 months) - so can take this to cover gst.

QUOTE(ultra_nyamuk @ Jan 31 2011, 01:44 PM)
Guys, i have a question. AFAIK, OCBC titanium MC dont have ezy payment plan (from the bank, not by merchants). So lets say i purchase something for RM 1000. Minimum monthly payment is 5%, RM50.
So, if i pay consistantly the minimum payment, i wont get charged the 13.5% pa interest right? and it will be like 0% month installment payment? is my understanding correct?
*
if i'm not mistaken, OCBC did have Flexi Payment Plan. call them for more info.

but then, ur understanding regarding min payment and no interest are wrong!
IF U NOT PAYING FULL BALANCE STATEMENT, U WILL BE CHARGED WITH INTEREST!
even pay less than 1sen! remember, always pay full!

QUOTE(ultra_nyamuk @ Jan 31 2011, 01:54 PM)
Hehe, what i meant is AT LEAST pay the minimum, but surely will be more so that it will take just a year or less than that. so, it means 1000 will directly X 13.5% even if i have a good record or payment?(consistantly paying more than min 5%)

..... so means the interest is charged monthly according to previous unsettled balance? i just want to know more before i get a credit card..and choosing which credit card. So, those banks that have 0% ezpayment means really 0% (by merchant) ?
*

1st, if ur card is new or less than 1 year, then its 17.5% interest p.a, not 13.5% ~!

13.5% is for card user who never missed min payment on due date for whole previous year (12 months).
if u consistantly paying more than min 5%, then u will get 13.5% starting from SECOND year.

another thing, the interest is NOT ONLY charged to statement balance, but also for current/recent/unbilled transaction!

let say ur 1st bill is rm1000 and u pay only rm50, and before next statement u also swipe another rm1500.
so, not just rm950 balance will be charged with interest, but also the 'new swipe' of rm1500!
total rm2450 will be charged with interest!

2nd, 0% installment by merchant is really 0%, u just need to pay fixed monthly amount divided by period of installment.
but, some shop do charge additional 1 time fee from the total amount, example 2%.
let say, u want to buy rm1000, but swipe amount is rm1020 (after 2% charge), then monthy will be rm85.

I contacted one OCBC card agent, she mentioned that the bank itself doesnt offer this service but will introduce it in the future(i wonder how long..haha) Yes, there is Flexi Payment Plan but only from selected merchants...which is quite little, ocbc not commonly accepted?
*
ur welcome.

read at OCBC website, yes, their Flexi Payment Plan only offer for selected merchant.

if for Flexi Payment Plan, yes its nto commonly accepted.
but if u swipe full amount, then u can swipe at anywhere that accept Mastercard (hypermarket, petrol station, utility bill, restaurant, etc.)

etiqa 10% rebate is only applicable if u apply online via motortakaful.com but online only accept visa and mc.

2) Gold Card = Alliance Younique, AMEX Gold Credit Card

what is AMEX Gold Credit Card, does Maybank American Express Gold same? or only refer to american express without other bank associated.

and will it be more benefit if i apply Maybank American Express Gold rather than ambank carz
*
AMEX Gold Credit Card is offered by maybank, but dont carry the maybank logo.

if u refer to here, then ur answer is yes.

It give u 5x MR points on petrol, so equal to 2.5% cashback (200 MR = RM1)
but the minimum income is RM30k/year.

Bank will ask you
- How old are you ? (if you are below the minimum age then it is a straight no)
- You have income ? (and must be more than RM24K per annum)

If you can answer positively to the above question then bank will issue credit card to student.

student which is at least 21 years old and have income at least rm18k/year, then no problem to apply.

yes etiqa accept AMEX.
i point out about 10% discount from etiqa, which is only given for online renewal, but their online system only accept visa and master for credit card payment.
to use AMEX, either go to etiqa office or by phone, will get 5% weekend rebate and 5x point,
but wont get the 10% online discount. ok?

You didn't get my meaning... nvm lah.
*
zenquix, i think what ronnie want to tell with "few days before 1-Feb 2011" is:

if some1 statement date is 14th each month, then swipes between 15-31 jan will be posted on feb statement, so its qualified already.
coz the terms - "must be posted on the Maybankard 2 American Express Card within the Campaign Period".
not must be swiped. ok?

so, some1 who swipe rm15k after jan statement date will get more chance to win it.
coz if he/she swipe another rm5k only this month (feb) then accumulated amount already rm20k.

u mean this is on top of your existing interest?

no. it will be 1 time charges only and no current interest.

what i mean if u swipe rm5000 then just pay rm5000 on next due date.
why do u want to add rm450 or rm900 just to pay monthly (12 / 24) installment?

if u really want to do installment, then go find merchant/shop that offer installment for maybank.
no need to pay that extra 9% ~!

we use credit card to get extra money from bank (cashback / rebate), not give extra money (interest) to them! brows.gif
