-erry got my exact meaning....
My guess is this Maybankard2 AMEX contest will have 300 winners by 28 Feb 2011.
*
hehe biggrin.gif

regarding the winners, i disagree. coz there will be other people who will swipe more on feb, march and april.

swipe till reached CL, then pay those recent transaction, so CL will be increased back and can swipe more notworthy.gif

example CL is rm30k, on this month february swipe rm25k, pay immediately, swipe another rm25k, so total for this month statement is rm50k already brows.gif

QUOTE(ultra_nyamuk @ Feb 2 2011, 12:57 AM)
ahh...great! i think i get it. It wont be charged like your other purchases if late payment. but item price x 9% / 12 or 24 = what you have to pay monthly right?
*
yes and no.

yes = item price + 9% then divide 12/24 months is what u need to pay monthly.
no = if u pay min payment only, then the installment balance will be charged with interest like other purchases!

u swipe rm5000, then convert to 24 months, u will be charged additional rm900 then monthly will be rm245.83.
meanwhile, u also swipe rm450 so ur total bill will be rm695.83 and u must pay this in full!

if u just pay rm50 (min payment), then not just rm645.83 will be charged with interest, but the installment remaining balance (rm5654.17) will be charged too!

u at 1st seems like want to 'save interest' on rm5000, but u already 'pay extra' rm900.
then, if u dont pay full, u will 'pay another extra' for the balance of that rm5900 (also for other purchases).

sweat.gif

so, again, pay all amount of statement balance. ok? notworthy.gif

Ok, yeap i plan to pay full for monthly balance. hehe~ thanks! i think im gonna apply maybankard2 tmrw smile.gif
*
ok. good thumbup.gif

but, if u looking for convert-to-installment plan, better use other bank.
PBB give free for 6 months, or 1.5% for 12 months, or 5% for 24 months.
AMBG give free for 6 & 12 months (limited promo till 31/3).
Alliance also give free for 6 & 12 months (limited promo till 28/2).

far lower rate than mbb ~

Added on February 2, 2011, 1:42 amoh another 1 is CIMB, 4% (20 months) / 5% (30 months) - till 30/6.

if you use MBB 2 card, 5% weekend cashback + 5X treat points = 7.5% cashback and if you use to pump at Esso station then plus 2.5% more for the Smile points and all equal to 10%??

err... esso/mobil smiles only 1.5% notworthy.gif

QUOTE(ben83 @ Feb 3 2011, 01:03 PM)
Maybankard 2 AMEX also entitled the 15% cashback promo then it is really unfair to existing AMEX holders. We cancel now & apply also we lose the previously accumulated cash back.
*
dont say unfair. still the same AMEX smile.gif

just cancel ur card after received the cashback. if let say need to renew 1st, only rm50 gst.
that rm50 can be covered by the 15% cashback, or by the new amex mbk2 thumbup.gif

Loss means existing AMEX holders already accumulate 15% cashback promo cannot convert to this Maybankard 2 AMEX immediately to enjoy 5x points & 5% cashback. Not to mention there is no conversion available from generic AMEX to this Maybankard 2, therefore needs to cancel. On top of tax I just paid the gst (for my generic AMEX Plat) right before this Maybankard 2 implemented, so means another round of gst if I cancel & reapply.

However those holding existing MBB Visa or MC are allowed to convert. This is verified by two officers at the 1U card center. However not too sure for those AMEX with MBB logo though.
*
since cant convert, just apply new lah.

so u will have current amex + mbk2 amex + mbk2 visa.
whats the prob?

again, ignore that gst already paid, coz the new mbk2 amex can cover it back.

Been thinking this way too of getting the extra cc. The main problem is MBB does not offer flexibility to existing holders & their mind only thinking of wooing new customers. This is almost the same frustration I faced years back when I tried upgrading from gold to platinum but was declined again & again by MBB despite with other platinum cc reference. However during their MBB Treats Fair in Mid Valley, there were offering platinum (especially the Petronas one) like nobody business even for other gold card holders. In the end I terminated the gold & reapply for my current AMEX Plat, I feel better now as a renewed customer. But now again this Maybankard 2 conversion problem.

Let's see how it goes as I am holding way too many credit cards right now.
*
current amex without maybank logo of coz cant convert to new mbk2.

amex without mbb logo using MR, while amex with mbb logo using TP.

the points now is u can convert.

now, go just the new mbk2 plat.

for ur current amex plat, wait till u get all ur cashback, redeem all ur MR, then just cancel it.

done ~ notworthy.gif

Based on my experience with EON bank, I got my plat approved 3 years ago with 12k CL only so I cannot apply other plat if my cards highest CL is only 12k.
Even UOB One plat or SCB plat also cannot approve. (at least 15k)
Maybank plat need 25k CL
PBB only 20k
But this MBB 2 Cards need 15k only.

(In CCRIS, only show CL, no card type and the card type is not important to approve any cards.)
*
wah plat CL only 12k? 3 years ago my HSBC and DA gold card get 2x than u sweat.gif

nvm. now if u want to apply for this mbk2, apply with supporting docs:

# Latest BE form with official tax receipt
# Latest 2 months' salary slips (must be at least rm5k/month)
# Latest 3 months' savings account activity/current account statements

What were you expecting ? Any bank would do conversion for you for free ?
We have repeated said that it is better to look for 0% IPP rather than convert it.
*
YES there are other bank that offer convert to installment (flexi payment) for free, such as pbb (6 months), ambg & alliance (6 & 12 months) brows.gif

but then, amex dont have this flexi payment plan features, and also dont have installment purchase plan (IPP) offered by merchant.
so, u need to find merchant that offer IPP for maybank then can only use ur mbk2 visa there (1 point only) sweat.gif

Very important to remember  - for most Visa and MasterCard, you get nothing, zip, zero nil for pumping petrol unless it is co-brand or it is stated x% in the terms and conditions of the card. It has been years already that CC don't get points except for AMEX's American Express. Not to sure on MBB or HLB American Express.
*
but if refer to https://www.maybankard.net.my/terms.html (#7) - it didnt stated that using card at petrol station wont get points.

while hsbc, it clearly stated that no points for transactions at petrol stations - http://www.hsbc.com.my/1/2/miscellaneous/h...-and-conditions (#4)

as for erry, he does give info that is good but may be outdated and that may mislead others, for the case of smiles points where he mentioned his petrol station gave extra promotional points months ago and people like PPZ and jack2 got the impression that they get 2.5% with Smiles Points. But can't blame erry when people don't pay attention to what is written.

regarding the esso/mobil, that time i did wrote complete details - only selected esso/mobil at kajang area from oct-dec offer 2x points, which equal to 3%, not 2.5% notworthy.gif

how can GST being charged if not even the date of annivessary yet? hmm.gif

nvm actually, coz both i get the waiver (annual fee free for 3 years, gst will be given 10k TP).
but, annual fee waived within same statement, but GST credited back (auto redeem TP) after 4 months ~
now my mbb got negative balance (GST credited minus recent/unbilled transaction) laugh.gif

swipe (slot) at pump, declined! try again, same - declined! vmad.gif
(my available credit limit is 5 digits and current bill is negative, why declined? rclxub.gif)

then go inside and try swipe rm30 at counter - approved! doh.gif

now just arrived at home, check m2u online, no recent transaction, still -rm22.70
so need to wait till the esso transaction appear and will see the TP ~
