sometimes we just hav to take the fact tat we have the BEST football thread here as rival fans also come to visit our thread

maybe they feel tat their own thread is too boring, thereby trying instigate us to "fight back", those ppl even term their own players "shite" players, this prove what kind of mentality do they posses doh.gif

remember there is a REPORT button if we feel tat kind of intrusion is not welcome

Facts are facts brah. And the fact of the matter is, he has won nothing with Liverpool.

If and if he retires at Liverpool with no trophies, is that not a waste?

Remember how he destroyed RM? This kinda player, dont come around every Sunday. He should be challenging for 4 trophies in 1 year, not 1 trophy in 4 years.
*
Alan Shearer also a prolific striker in Newcastle.
But won little thing with Newcastle, and retire with Newcastle as his last club, and serving Newcastle for almost a decade.

He won PL title with Blackburn with KD as manager.

Yes, Torres can go if Liv is not suit to his ambitious as a team winning trophies year after year, but not in current situation in the middle of season.
KD is just starting in charge, if really turn out not matching his ambition, change to the new club at the end of season also not too late.

Chelsea may also ended emptied handed this year as well.
MU is very strong this year, unless they lose on their own.

I think you missed out a point that Torres ONLY SUBMITTED that after the chelsea bid was turned down... In other words, my point is, before this, RA undervalues Torres and made sickening bid...
*
It may be a sickening bid but it makes sense if they knew before hand that Torres was interested in moving away. If that was the case, then why open with higher bid ? RA maybe rich but he doesnt have to play it gung ho and pay over the odds when theres a chance for him to pay way less. Besides, its pretty common for clubs to start bidding way below the seller's price. I.e. Ajax was asking for 30mil, we start at the lower possible bid at 12mil. We finally met them half way and agreed to pay 23mil. For Torres, im guessing the price we may put on him is probably around 50mil or so. They start bidding at 3omil or so which is about the same bargaining approach we did for Suarez. They are playing it smart.

Like I said, facts are facts. There is no point to "ampu" our own players if they are shit. FYI, everyone can see United games too....denying the fact that they are shit will only make one look like a fool. Having said that, it's not to say I don't support Evans or Gibson, they just need to buck up or the gaffer will ship them out. Simple.

You dont flatter yourself with the best thread nonsense please. The subject is Torres, would I post in Blackburn's forum?
*
Okay, maybe 1 try...

Torres is indeed `wasted' if he wants to add more medals in his cabinet. Liverpool might not offer the best chances. But if he were to stay on, continue to bang in goals, and receive adoration from fans and be a great player (just like his AM days), is it really a `waste?'

The point i am trying to make is perhaps there's more to a football career than just winning trophies. It his choice now..to chase medals or stay on at Liverpool.

Its just that being a rival fan and your reputation here, you might continue to harp on how `shitty' we are and think that i'm in delusion to say that we dont play football to win trophies. so i dont think this discussion will go further. i hope i am mistaken though..

I actually already pointed that out. He can love the club, or he can love trophies, since those two dont go hand in hand, he'll have to choose one.

It all boils down to recognition. When you are one of the best in what you do, wouldnt it be nicer to be recognized and adored by more then just Liverpool fans? At the end of the day, you don't play to please the fans, you play to win. Its the end product the counts, and the end product in this case is trophies.

If he wanted to "bang in goals" all his career, he could easily do that in West Ham. West Ham fans would adore him, he will still win nothing and will still be a great player.

Adoration =/= trophies ( and it will never be). And which player doesn't wants to win trophies and there are places that you can get BOTH adoration from fans AND trophies.

That's really a bold comment don't you think? The winning BPL part is fine since there are not even close at the top but not qualifying for CL?

I think he already achieved that recognition and adoration status.

Why bring in West Ham? He is already with Liverpool. OR you want to state that we really stand 0 chances of winning anything for next 3 years if Torres stays?

so joining Chelsea and he can hold trophies this season or next, maybe qualifies CL?

i dont think so, maybe Liverpool fans will agreed if he returns to spanish league, like Real Madrid. surely they're always on CL every season.

The chances of Torres going RM is the same as Torres going to MU. He'll prefer Barca 100%.

Considering that the last silverware that Liverpool won is the FA Charity Shield and FA Cup back in 2006. I don't see that not being a possibility.

As in adored and recognized by not only Pool fans. Recognized by your fellow peers as a winner. West Ham was an example. If you prefer, we'll just call it Club X. Its representing a point. Look it up in context.

staying on at liverpool is not exactly the same with playing for West Ham isnt it?
I think its safe to say Torres is already recognised by his peers as a winner even if he never win anything again. He is that good and has proven it. On the other hand, i am not sure about some other players with plenty of medals in their hand...

If he wants to win medals with Chelsea or RM, its not wrong. Its not evil. I have no problem reading your opinions on medals and glories.

What i dont like is your attitude, when you can come here and claim that Torres will waste his years if he choose to stay.

You dont seem to get it. A player of his quality, should be in the mix for every trophy every season. Anything less than that, well it's a waste. Doesnt matter if he's plying his trade with MU, RM, Barce. If he is not in a position to be challenging for leagues and cups, then it's a waste regardless of amount of goals scored.

Put it to you this way, if he was in RM now, and RM are 10th in the league, not in CL, not in cup....then he is still a waste.

so you are saying all star players must play for big clubs challenging for titles else they are wasted?
