Thanks lol. Any one question - does the heat transfer (build material) really affect the battery life significantly? I mean physics states more heat on a battery is less efficient.

Battery hates heat, it will reduce its lifespan... If you mean how long the battery can last you in one charge e.g. 2-3 hours, then no, build material doesn't affect that...

Then about MacBook Pro's battery life? The pure aluminium unibody doesn't feel hot at any areas of the laptop. Heat transfer is good enough there. EDIT : Given same mAh battery and hardware

Macbook Pro battery is on the palm rest, as for the heat area, is near the hinge on the screen...
Given with the same WHr and hardware, it will down to software how efficient it utilize the power...

can anyone suggest which laptop should i go for?
im thinking either these two model ASUS A42JY-VX195V and ACER AS4820TG-482G64
the price difference for both is around 100bucks..
Acer specs look better compared to ASUS but im thinking of the reliability. Wanted to use for long term, friends around keep complaining about acer always got problem with the laptop in within a year, although it offers 3years warranty.
anyone can suggest me which to go for? thanks

1. Brand: Any brand 2. Budget: Less than RM3k 3. Specs: any i series processor, preferably i5. good graphic card, at least can play FIFA, call of duty. 4. Size: 11' or 13'
actually, i can't decide which size i want. so, if sifu here can suggest good laptop in both categories, i really appreciate it. tq

13'' would be Acer 3820TG, i3 380M + ATi HD6550@RM2199.. 11'' would be Alienware M11x, but not under RM3K...

If just SSD, better buy your own and change the HDD, it would be cheaper and you can choose your own SSD..

From HDD to SSD, both using the same interface SATA... Warranty void for the HDD since you not using the pre-installed HDD..

The Acer 3820TG is lighter than M11x... If you meant 11'', then no, not at least if you want one with decent GPU... Below than M11x, it will just be those Atom with nVidia ION or AMD Fusion..

Hi, I'm looking for laptop. I'm gonna use it to watch movies, download movies , surfing & multi tasking. Haven't got specific budget but the cheaper the better but not in the expense of performance & quality, especially when watching movies. Anyway it should not be more than RM 2.5k or 3k.
I don't know what brand or model to look for, please suggest.
