If Acer, which model u recommend?

Acer don't really have good model now especially in screen/speaker part...

and since you want to use Linux, avoid nVidia Optimus...

So, if my laptop is using SATA HDD which most laptop are using nowdays, I can change to SSD? I mean the connector is same as SATA HDD connector? I have no idea because i have not seen a SSD before.

Better quality screen, its a RM6xx upgrade for that screen previously..

Usage: chatting, surfing, portability
Others: The notebook must not be hot during usage. At least 4 hours usage with battery preferred

looking for laptop.

13' or 14'; price around RM2k-RM2.2k. 4GB memory and 500GB hdd. Usually for online, typing, downloading movie, and gaming (simple games) sometimes.

Btw, is A42JA good?

14'' under 2KG is kinda restrictive under this budget, would be Lenovo U460, but its RM2399...
I would suggest get 13'', Acer 3820TG, i3 380M + ATi HD6550M, 1.8KG, 6 hurs@RM2199, since you don't really need to the ATi GPU, you can just switch it to Intel HD and lower the heat output...

Consider Acer 3820TG, i3 380M + ATi HD6550M@RM2199..
A42Ja, not really good choice for now since you can get better deal with the SandyBridge notebook + its more than RM2.2K...
