intel X25? hmm.gif
oh well that's 2012 plans... got one year to work for it brows.gif
mean time latest plans are the G700 mouse and a some 2.1 or maybe 5.1 speakers... worth getting those cheap 5.1? or get better 2.1?
*
Although its OT but I'd take a better 2.1 system than cheap 5.1. I take quality than quantity any day

Better buy from shop near your house, is safer. I think the price won't have a big different.

Added on February 13, 2011, 4:47 pmGT425M is better than GT310M?

From Garage Sales the best price is RM2499 and from shop is RRP at RM2699. RM200 more though. But i'll rather buy at shop la since from shop can get some free gift but from Garage Sales no free gift. tongue.gif

The free gifts are cheap...cooler, mouse pad, cleansing kit, screen protector...the bag and mouse are free from asus. If possible, take the price down to 2599, most of the shops near my house offer 2599

5.1 is overkill... Normally for the same price, SQ of the 2.1 would be much better lol..

Depends whether you're audiophile or not... 5.1 is good for movies with the surround n correct codecs/setup, it's gonna be awesome..

If not for music 2.1 is better....

If want to save RM200, I need to go to KL and COD with the seller. Petrol + toll is already RM50. tongue.gif

Seriously? This shop is Asus recommended retailer so they selling at RRP. RM2599 also sounds great though. At least can add more RAM or buy a better cooler with RM100. drool.gif

Added on February 14, 2011, 12:30 amWell, when is the i5 SB coming eh? Is there any news that Asus is going to come out with i5 SB anywhere SOON? March maybe?

i'm assuming SQ is sound quality? i'm not so good on these terms.
Anyways, yea 5.1 codecs are tedious... don't even like using my Kave to watch movies, only play games on them.

Bros, I wanna ask about laptops to get a laptop
Decent speakers, decent build quality (more aluminium, less plastic), switchable and not-so-old graphics, i5 proc, working multimedia keys with iTunes (impossible, but really great to have) and good battery life...
I saw ASUS A42JY-VX195V very perfect but just without switchable graphics :'(

Any of them budget at about <2.4k?
The ASUS one is really seductive. 14 inches?

14'' nod.gif

The next best thing is Acer 3820TG, i3 380M + ATi HD6550@RM2199, 13.3'' with aluminium lid, but so-so speaker...

Possibly don't want i3 sweat.gif
I'm gonna use for light gaming (or maybe just mediocre, not hardcore).
Okay la, maybe not speakers. Just good audio driver and sound card. Use headphones and my Edifier C3 wub.gif

I firstly saw the Lenovo U460, switchable graphics and meets what I wanted. Then disaster is the 2.3 or 2.4k variant is i3!

Not those kind of games. I mean indie games.
Sorry bro, I'm really bad at telling stuffs
I also read that some laptops said got switchable graphics like Lenovo Y560P last few pages and said it didn't switch??
And some video previews of laptops got switch to manually switch instead.

The old Y560p with i5 does have switchable GPU,
the new one with i7 SandyBridge doesn't switch for the moment...

Well, there is two way for switching, manual ( ATi/AMD) vs auto (nVidia)...

If want i5 notebook with dedicated GPU, Lenovo Z460, i5 480M + nVidia 310M@RM2299, but no switchable GPU..

Aih really dilemma
Fusion APU another one heading for netbooks first.

Where do you check btw? Acer's MY website doesn't update, ASUS one is just lack of information, Lenovo is somewhat weird.
