If you travel around a lot but still want power, go M17X R3

If you travel less, go for M18X R1... it is gonna weight a lot and has dual GPU

my opinion, m17x r3 is powerful enough compared to others

Guys, need some help here

I got a Alienware M15x for around 4 months and just few hours ago I got this problem,

The laptop screen dimming does not revert to previous setting after it dim (dim when away for 15-20 minutes)

So I have to actually manually pressing 'Fn + F4' to increase the brightness.

It gets annoying especially when I am using youtube. It dims whenever I watch something and I have to revert it back manually.
I went to administrative tools > Service > disable AlienFusion and yet problem still occur

Anyway to solve this?
I tried to search around the forum but couldn't find any post or topic related to this.

You can try to disable auto dim by navigate to power options. Under advance power option there got display management and you can put the auto dim to off. Hope that help.

You mean the power plan settings?
I selected the 'Never' and it should be alright

But the thing is I'm little disappointed since the auto dim doesn't work at all. Not that I want to save power.
Its more like...the feeling of 'there are no way to solve the problem other than switching it off'?

check power, check stealth, check nvidia control panel, check screen brightness.

how abt from the alienfusion? go set it on advanced settings after that make sure select the correct plan..

Its under advanced power settings, so it should not have the never options there. Its either on or off.

Oh I went to the battery option instead of AlienFusion cause I thought I disable it already
I enable it now and switch the auto dim off. Will see what happen next

what is ur gc? my lappy had those problems when in stock gc driver, after updating to forceware 267.76 it got better.. no more messy brightness.

guys my m11x crack already the hinge is totally broken first on my right hinge laptop then now left hinge laptop .....

what to do now?

still under warranty but is there any package on warranty that I have to buy to change this hinge ?

3d screen is useless, expensive summore. & gtx460m not powerful enough to push for 3d effect~
