let your source goes for the input, the output to the Lyr, then goes to your headphone
y don`t use a line out dock for the sony? it sounds would be much much better~
n preamp need matching as well.. if preamp doesn`t match with the Lyr, then it would be degrade instead of upgrade.

Is there any good quality mic thats compatible with Ipod touch? Not crazy recording studio kind of good, just interview people in a a noisy mall kind of good. The ipod touch mic+headphone ends with a 3-band plug if that helps.

What you need is some small cup size headphone, the likes of ES55, K450 etc. The bigger cups one sometimes will affect the glasses.

There are a few good ones. Klipsch S4i, ajays 4, and Denon C560R, are the popular ones.

Well, the main reason I want to change is because I hate the default Sony earphone's fit on my ear. The sound quality is not that clear (a bit blurry) and the bass not "tight" enough.
Not sure if my description makes sense to you though =X.
