Today, is a sublime day?
Why you may ask? I will tell you why, it is a sublime day. I watched two amazing movies today, namely Coco (2017) To think, I was going to give is a miss at the cinemas. Knowing very little about the Pixar project (and what I know about it going in, sounded too much like The Book of Life (2014)) The Frozen short (20 mins) was a good appetizer. And then the main course was served and any reservation I had, WENT OUT the windows. There is so much.... love put into this movie, and it cannot help but give it back out to the audience. Beautifully done. I really thought that in December/2017, I only have Star Wars to watch at the cinema, and boy, am I glad I was wrong I give this movie, a 10 out of 10. Go watch this please It is worth every sen of the ticket price. My Two Sen This post has been edited by Mov_freak: Dec 6 2017, 11:31 PM |

and the other
Murder on the Orient Express (2017) One cannot talk about this movie, without making some form of reference to it's book writer, Agatha Christie. Some what of an enigma herself (she "disappeared" in 1926 for a period of 10 days, causing a big manhunt for her) and also using the actual kidnapping and murder of Charles Lindbergh's son in 1932 as the MacGuffin for the story Fast forward to now, how does Kenneth Branagh managed the latest movie adaptation of this VERY well know book. The answer, with alot of respect and GREAT eye for details. The production quality of this movie, is OFF THE CHART!! With the budget 55 million USD, what he got on film is SPECTACULAR! The script is great The Cast, oh my goodness, everyone brought their A GAME and Kenneth'e direction... The scene where the murderer is revealed... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I love this movie to bits. I do hope they make the sequel (in talks) As always, My Two Sen |

American Made - Decent watch but trapped in your standard rise and fall cliche of gangster movie biopic. Instead heavy emphasis on violence it's airplane smuggling contraband with the crazy real life controversial drug lords and dictator. It's not bad at all just not enough gas to be a stand out.

![]() Earth: One Amazing Day – 7.5/10 Well it’s been a long while didn’t watch any documentary. I can’t have enough of this documentary. Despite 1h35min it felt short. I guess I can’t get enough of my home Earth. It starts at early morning and narrates until night. I wish it was longer 3h… 4h…. 5h….. 6h…… ![]() The Miracles Of The Namiya General Store (Jap) – 7/10 Despite I disliked all the cast in this movie the movie performed miracle enough for everyone to liked it. A bit confused at times near climax because of nonlinear story telling where it jump between timelines(present & past). The journey is that connected thru the Namiya Store and the events here somehow connected. A heartwarming story with the only complain slow paced. Listen to the nice song from the movie. ![]() Beyond Skyline – 4/10 For me this movie was quite awful. Only good stuff is better than average special effects. We shall not touch any movie with Frank Grillo as main lead. ![]() The Square (Eng-Swedish-Danish) – 7.3/10 Not sure how to describe this weird museum runner movie. Good or bad you decide. Culture differences. For me it’s not bad at all. Probably the best Euro movie of 2017. |

![]() Wonder (2017) – 7.7/10 This is one of the most inspiring movie of 2017. This feel good movie really do wonders. Highly recommended. Don’t ask or think. Go watch it. Wonder why the limited release. ![]() On Body and Soul (Hungarian 2017) – 7/10 This may turn off some people due to unfamiliar culture of Hungary. Yet I do not felt this movie any bad at all. Movie was moving acceptable slow for sure and weird watch for me. Wonder why no love for international movies. ![]() Mumon: The Land Of Stealth (Jap 2017) – 6/10 A bit regret watching this because it was no as fun as I hoped. Still the intense ending and showcase of near accurate of Japanese ninja(ignore Naruto or Kenshin) redeemable. |

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
Well.... Have I GOT a story to share with you. And it goes like, a long long time ago, in a galaxy far far away... I did not planning to watched this today. I had purchased tickets for IMAX 3D tomorrow. Wondered into a cinema today to watch WONDER, and the timing was off... and was surprised that Star Wars is available today, and I had free tickets so... I watched it today as well... I am a pig, I know... So, how is this movie. Okay, I have to admit, with it's pedigree, this movie is in a tough spot. SO MUCH EXPECTATION is on it. With that said, it did try very hard to PLEASE everyone, and it is THAT, which I feel is it's stumbling block... The Good Keeping the character, Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron character (it was rumored that this character, in the original script, did not survive the first movie), was a good call. Making Mark Hamill's character Luke Skywalker, a more manic version of Old Ben Kenobi in the Desert Tatoonie again, also a good call. Laura Dern's (hey you, lady from the first Jurassic park movie) Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo character, wow! The first 10 mins of the movie, BRILLIANT! The Bad » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « The Ugly » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « So, in short, how is this 2 hour and 30 minutes movie? Really guys, would what I say here matter, you will watch this movie never the less. With that, My Two Sen. |

The Last Jedi.
First impression... is that this is miles better than TFA. At least miles more entertaining. It could be shorter, but overall I think there was a clear propulsive core to the story, and the side story with Rey and Luke works very well for the most part. Could have trimmed a bit in the middle, and the climax went on longer than needed. But whereas TFA was a jumbled mess during the climax with no excitement whatsoever, here Rian Johnson is competent enough to build up to a a series of climatic showdowns that string together quite wonderfully. And it was actually EXCITING. I'm not sure it's great, but I'll certainly call it good and entertaining. That said I thought TFA was half decent in the first viewing, and dreadfully boring on the second. Time will tell if this holds up for me. Oh and a shout out to a gleefully shouty Domhnall Gleeson, who ramps it up even more here. Pity about Adam Driver, destined to be cited as one of the most miscast roles ever. It could have been a great character if played by someone who could look and act the part, not a younger Snape. I watched Logan Lucky recently too, and he was frankly rubbish in that as well. |

QUOTE(Mov_freak @ Dec 19 2017, 06:55 PM) May not be. haha it better be bcuz this is still my favorite BDT role ever...the youngest bond henchman everI have a sneaky feeling that Benicio Del Toro's character, DJ would be more prominent in the next movie. But then again, I could be wrong. 80s hensem are so much more natural unlike now hensem are full of injecting botox now I am smelling the next big thing in hollywood coming from CUBA and hope both BDT and ADA 2 team up together in future projects This post has been edited by skylinelover: Dec 19 2017, 10:26 PM |
