Kingsman 2 The Golden Circle was one of those sequel that i wanted it to fail but ended up being surprisingly good.

Wind River - An almost great crime caper.

Certainly this movie does not have the high profile status of Sicario and not as award buzzing of Hell and High Water...it is no slouch either. The murder mystery is there alright with enough hook to keep chasing the lead. Here you get to relive why Jeremy Renner matter as a strong character actor. This is just back to his hungry actor phase where he act the shit out of his role. Mind you if you did like Sicario, Wind River does have those building tension that exploded in a very satisfying violence that was earned through the storytelling and not for the sake of staging an action scene. It very worth watching for me.

mother!

Umm, I'm not sure what to think of this. This thing is so steeped in the allegorical that by the end it appears that is its only goal. For an allegory to really work it needs to have some semblance of reality that we can still relate to. The beginning of mother! certainly has this, but minute-by-minute Aronofsky strips this thin veneer of relatability bit by bit, where characters do things that make absolutely no sense, and he throws everything crazy into the mix for the last half hour. By that point there is only CRAZY on screen. And crazy without a point of reference to NORMAL somewhere in picture... doesn't fully work.

It still feels like an impressive picture, and it's utterly unthinkable that a major studio funded this for mainstream release. I'll have to watch it again when it's out on home media.

Movie : I Saw The Devil (2010)

The best Korean movie I've watched so far. A secret agent seeking for revenge after his girlfriend was murdered. I enjoy watching the torture scene (don't get me wrong, I'm not a psycho), but this is one of the best revenge movie in Korean.

Rating : 9/10

Not to debate which one is a better movie....there are slew of similar underrated or not so popular action thriller that you can give a look.
Hwayi : A monster boy
A Hard Day
Vengeange Trilogy by Chan Wook Park
The Man With No Name
The Chaser
Yellow Sea
If the more dramatic type..Bong Joon Ho's Mother and Memories of Murder will always be the best of Korean Cinema.

Adapted first half of season 1 with Maro death as ending plus deliberately slow pacing make this show not as good as the anime. If they adapt like this it will require 4 more movies to finish up to 2nd season. Should've make live action tv series instead.

This bromance movie was hilarious at the beginning but not so much after 2nd half. Let down by ending wheres there's no memorable or weak antagonist. Most gurl watched this because of the two main leads.

I guess most people watched it already kua ... after the news that Dangal is the top box-office foreign movie in China ever ... the movie earned more money in China than in India!

When recommended to friends, siblings & in-laws, some who never watched Hindi movie before, they really like it as well. biggrin.gif

For me, one of the best movies of 2016/2017.

Oh yeah. Even Raimi's first Spiderman movie, which isn't great by most means, is still a heck a lot better than this. This is mass-produced canned shit.

Baby Driver. Eh, it was pretty good. Started off really strong but burned out by the end. I'm not the biggest Edgar Wright fan though, I really like Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz and Scott Pilgrim are good, but he's not the Messiah to me. He's most got by using his quirky, gimmicky visuals and English humour but translate that into a big blockbuster and his range feels a little limited. I also didn't think the soundtrack was THAT good, I mean yeah it's very good but the number of times I've read about someone banging on about how immaculate the soundtrack is... nah. The movie really needed more Jamie Foxx... now he was amazing in this. Still, a pretty 2 hours.

The marketing team want this movie to fail except it's not. Movie quite intense near the end.
