Bad Genius (Thai) - 7.2/10
Good thriller especially during cheating. Who says Thai movie all about horror. Try not to miss this. Revolt (Eng) - 5.8/10 Surprisingly watchable low budget b-flick alien invasion sci-fi movie. Better than recent Osiris Child and Dark Tower. Watch if have extra time. Toilet Ek Prem Katha (Hindi) - 7/10 Public defecation is common in rural areas around India. It is old age culture and religion related. This movie spent first half romance 2nd half building toilet by going against their village's culture. Quite fun to watch. The Adventures (Mand) - 6/10 A better Andy Lau movie despite I disliked Stephen Fung directing. Above average at best. |

The Hitman's Bodyguard (Eng) - 6.5/10
Watch them banter each other. Decent action and have some laughs. At least better than R.I.P.D(2013). Bareilly Ki Barfi (Hindi) - 7/10 From the writers of Dangal(2016). Nope they can't repeat the same success there's no Aamir Khan but movie is funny and enjoyable to watch nonetheless. Rajkummar Rao is a total scene stealer. Taramani (Tamil) - 7.2/10 A total different type of pace and character movie. Felt like watching Gone Girl(2014) without the murder. The Battleship Island (Kor) - 6.5/10 A decent war island film although history accuracy is questionable. |

Rough Night (2017)
Just another B-C grade movie about American people enjoy their last moment before they get married. (Bachelorette night) Scarlett Johanssen as main actress in this movie. I was quite shocked that she act in this kind of movie. Because the movie is quite horrible. I think she is tired with Superhero movies, so she want to try something else i guess. I gave 3/10. I watched this movie because I have too much free time to spend and also because of Scarlett This post has been edited by xpole: Aug 23 2017, 06:22 PM |

The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017)
You know it is trouble, when no one wants to open a topic for this. Let's cut through the chase... How flawed is this movie? The answer... VERY!!! Script is just... going through the motion. Nothing is unexpected. I MEAN NOTHING And why does director Patrick Hughes think he is Quentin Tarantino or Tim Miller? And Ryan Reynold looks.... off in this movie, especially at the beginning. He looks like he was propped up by.... the amount of makeup applied onto his face!!! And the third act... it is JUST WRONG. Best part of this movie? The poster.... My Two Sen. |

The Wall - A decent filler movie in between.
Surprise there are reputable people behind this little movie. Doug Liman directing it with Aaron Taylor Johnson leading it and supporting from John Cena. It's your standard single location of a cat and mouse thriller that have you second guessing who will come out alive in the end. Don't mistake this as action pack exercise as it is more interested in back and forth reverse psychology banter between the hunted and hunter. It's a good watch when you have nothing else to watch and certainly I would rather watch this over The Hitman's Bodyguard. |

![]() This movie is tonally all over the place, has inconsistent characterization, crappy soundtrack most of the time and some weird pacing. Feeling abit mixed at end though. It is actually fun at times and engaging when it plays around with the story from the manga. When it doesn't though, oh boy.... Hard for me to recommend to anyone familiar with the source material, but do watch if you want some Final Destination type of story beat. 4/10 Best part of the movie: L, very well acted by the guy. |

Birth of the dragon
The movie, Birth of the dragon, is yet another Bruce Lee inspired movie from Hollywood. The movie centers itself on the fight which sets Bruce Lee, staring Philip Ng (you may recognize him from martial arts movie in HK) as the legend, against Wong Jack Man which will be the turning point where Bruce Lee sees that martial he trains in is limited and eventually goes of to found Jeet Kun Do. Phillip Ng does an ok job impersonating Bruce Lee however those of you who are fans' of the legend my not like this movie as Bruce Lee is portrayed as a brash, arogant, uncaring person who places his ambition over everything else. The story take place during the 60's when Bruce Lee was still teaching Wing chun in Chinatown. That being said, the story does not take place behind the eyes of Bruce Lee but for Steve Mckee, his student who will brings them both Bruce Lee and his rival Wong Jack Man against each other and together against the triad. The story isn't the greatest point in the movie. The plot is simple, boy meets girl type scenario with plenty of action thrown together. Lets admit this everyone, the only reason to watch a Bruce Lee movie is for the action. The actions scenes are great and are choreographed by Corey Yuen, which is the only thing saving the movie from being mediocre. Is it worth watching this movie? Yes, if you're in it for the action. No if you're a Bruce Lee fanboy. |

Cars 3(Eng) - 6/10
Decent movie and it felt it has reached its time. SPL: Paradox(Cant) - 7/10 Still couldn't surpass original part 1, nonetheless part 1 director returns to direct this and it did not disappoint. If you already watched SPL 1&2 why skip this? Sure no Donnie Yen no Wu Jing no Zhang Jin no Sammo Hung. Nobody want to see Louis Koo fight. Film hold it's own. Vivegam(Tamil) - 7/10 My first Ajith Kumar film. High octane fast pace over the top defying logic action bangs for every penny you paid. Massive heroic like presense and innumerable punch dialogues spoken are the highlights. Movis has a lot of action from begining until the end. Open up your mind and go watch this and be rewarded.(only Eng subtitles) Mon Mon Mon Monster(Mand) - 6.5/10 I watched this because of the director's previous work "You Are the Apple of My Eye". Movie is dark and violent, totaly 180 degree turnaround compared to his previous work. Cast is young and fresh they did good to sustain the movie. Visual and makeup and production design also good. This movie portraying school bully mostly. That's the message of this story. |

Summoning here. MovFreak
Must watch American Made. Tom Cruise latest. It is shot with the 70s vibe in it by the great Bourne Identity director. From the music 2 the camera all using the 70s angles. Very refreshingly made. I hope it will be inside Oscars nomination next year.😄😄👍👍I call it the non-fictional version of Tony Montana and the late 70s version of scarface because of the rise and fall of the main man plotline. The structure is very much identical. Hahahaha. |

Inhumans (2017) Imax Pilot
Erm... What exactly was Marvel thinking... Putting whip cream on dog doo doo may "look" like a good idea and then it suddenly isn't? It used to be, Pixar can do no wrong, and Pixar has since proved otherwise. So now, the same can be said about Marvel. I understand that this is NOT a movie, it is a TV Series pilot that is shown in the IMAX cinema.... Remember my whip cream on dog doo doo analogy.... *Sigh* You should have know better Marvel. The only reason why I watched this at the Imax theatre is because a friend of mine wanted to watch it. I could have watched American Made.... AVOID AT ALL COST My Two Sen |

Death Note (ENG) – 1/10
Very very very bad movie if you knew the original manga. The original Death Note cannot even be soaked with water, invincible to rain. In this version, basah saja..…. lousy book. What is Death Note if you took out original rules(40sec, heart attack, etc). L in this movie was out of control…. lost his cool….. shouting….. tried to kill because Watari was dead. Omg…. Adam Wingard what a clown director. Colour of the Game (CANT) <黑白迷宫>– 6.5/10 A comfortable pace of a Wong Jing produced gangster movie. Although a non-original story movie is comfort to watch and none a single bore moment. Jordan Chan the only comic relief char. Renegades (ENG) – 5/10 A Luc Besson produced movie with JK Simmons as General and Sullivan Stapleton as main char. An average movie. Many underwater scenes near the end. Watch if have extra time and money. Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High (JFF’17) <帝一の國>– 7/10 This is a very high spirited movie and funny. American Made (Eng) – 6.5/10 Not a fan of Doug Liman. Nearly screw up Edge of Tomorrow. But this is his 2nd best work indeed. I wonder who the guy holding the camera to shoot this movie, always shot HALF HEAD. What the heck. The Sinking City: Capsule Odyssey (CANT) <西謊極落:太爆‧太子‧太空艙> – 6/10 A one-time movie. Watch it enjoy it and forget it. Made for Chinese. Mrs K (CANT-MAND) – 6/10 Despite marketed as Kara Wai’s last action movie, the movie itself doesn’t contain very much as action at all. Simon Yam played the role too seriously. Kudos to special 3 well-known directors cameo appearance. |
