i gt a question... i gt engineering course..but do we need to use laptop in 1st sem? if no need 1st then i planning to buy on 2nd sem or ltr... n engineering course hv to use high graphic program or nt de? if yes then will buy a higher spec de..

normally u would need to have one. because in first semester u might have subjects that used softwares like AutoCAD, Visual Basic for C programming etc.

and there would be university-compulsory subjects that like to give typing-assignments.

normally those program used medium graphic, not too high, because some of the programs are quite old (use xp as recommended OS)

I am only able to answer your questions in blue.

Orientation will be mostly talks, information sessions, etc by the University itself, library, and the most important one, by PTPTN. And yes, I think most talks will be at Dewan 2020. Bring extra jacket if you don't wanna get frostbite.

Moving on to your second questions. Not all subjects (like wajib subjects) have labs and tutorials. But ALL core subjects have all these three elements. Don't skip any tutorials, as most lecturers will give "tips" during their tutorials. Lab is equally very important as well. Some labs will have lab test at the end of the semester. Similarly, do not skip lectures.

Orientation week banyak boring. Talks and talks and talks. Most students will fall asleep inside the dewan. You will see "fishing" activities everywhere.

Then the PPMS flers will wake you up at 5.30am with sirens and horns using hailers. This, in my opinion, is the dumbest way to wake someone up.

Yes, but unless you're going to run simulation on it (which I don't recommend), pricey laptops are overkill. Most mid range laptops will do the job just fine.

I recommend laptops with the specifications below:
Core i5 as minimum
Not less than 4GB of RAM
Mid range graphics cards such as GT740m
Windows 7 64 bit

Note that as future projects get more and more complicated, the demand for computational resources will be greater, so you may want to consider spending a bit more.

Electronics Engineering prepares you to work for the International Big Players in the Semiconductor Industries such as Altera, First Solar, Intel, Infineon, Motorola, Silterra, SunPower, Renesas, Sony, Western Digital, etc. It depends on your definition of “hard”. If you think Rote Learning is hard, then Electronics is considered relatively much easy. You will deal with Finite Mathematics.

Electronics Engineering requires you to grasp the concept of Solid-state physics, Amplifier circuitry (Yes! Amplifiers can do wonders), protecting electronic devices against ESD (Electrostatic Discharge), and designing electronic systems such as printed circuit boards (PCB) and integrated circuits (IC). These are the fundamentals.

Advanced Electronics requires you control electronic systems with microcontrollers (MCU) using knowledge from Digital electronics (Logic Gate: AND / OR, Boolean Logic: 0 | 1), Digital signal processing (DSP), and Digital Control Theory (Z-transform). At the final year of the course, you are required to build & develop a mini microelectronic project using miscellaneous microchips.

I heard my friends said the room there is spacious and very comfy (and NEW), so no worries. But, it's actually in the middle of nowhere, so I'm not sure if they arrange buses to Kangar or Changlun or Jitra (Kangar I think sure got lah, but other places i not sure)

Didn't know KKA was 'shifted' to Pauh lol... nearly had a joke on myself
KKA used to be at Taman Aman, Bintong/Kangar area, now I think they reserve for international students.

Last time KKB,C,D,E were in Kg. Wai, but no more... 往事只能回味啊
