BEWARE OF THIS CONFINEMENT LADY

I engaged her for mid Jan, everything was agreed already. During the period before she is supposed to start work, she would constantly call or text now and then to chit chat. But in late Dec, she sent me a text asking to borrow $3000sgd to buy a condo in m'sia. Thats quite a lot of money to lend someone who hasnt even started working for me plus the fact that it wasnt like she needed the money for some kind of emergency situation. I decided to give it some thought and before I could reply the next day, she sent me a text apologising and asking me to forget she asked. So I guess she found her solution and dismissed the issue. 


But MY HORROR, the day before she was due to start work, she sent me a text saying she cant come work for me. She didnt even have the courtesy to call to tell me. So I called her wanting to find out if she was facing any difficulties and the reason, yet instead of explaining her reasons, she went straight into telling me how her friend had approached her to INVEST in a condo with her friend in end Dec and she didnt buy it cos she didnt get the money (aka didn't manage to borrow the money). As I was driving then, I told her I'll give her a call again that night, yet from then on she simply didnt answer my calls and didnt even call me back.


Cant believe she didn't even bother to come out with better excuses.

What a horrible person, absolutely untrustworthy plus to do that to a mother at the very last minute, less than 24hrs before she was supposed to start work.  


I later found out from other mothers, apparently she can talk very well and make you feel at ease with her but she gossips about all her previous clients while boasting about what she can do.

Does any one know 秀娟姐(016 9005221). I called Lian Jie just now to book for her service on end of July 2014. But unfortunately, she is fully booked. She recommend me her cousin sister.

Does anyone use her before? I would like to know how's her service.

Dear all expecting parents,

I would like to share my experience of my confinement lady with you. We engaged her because of the good comments from this site. Her name is Aunty Michelle. BEWARE!!! She is not even half as good as what she was described to be.

First of all, she is very "money face". Her current fee is RM4000 for 28 days, excluding angpow which is RM300 (she actually told us that we can give her more if we want). What upsets me is that, less than an hour after arriving at my house, she asked my hubby to bank in the full amount for her! Of course we declined because payments are usually due only AFTER job is done!

Secondly, we feel that she is not that experienced in confinement care - both caring for mother and baby. She can be quite lazy and not very creative when it comes to food. I only got my 5 meals on her first day here. After that, my breakfast, tea & supper are the same everyday - Milo with biscuits or bread or whatever she can find ready made in my house (as long as no cooking is required). Plus, she won't prepare them for me unless I asked. After the first week, instead of she preparing breakfast for me, my hubby had to tapau breakfast for me AND her every morning!

In one week I can be eating the same dishes 3 times. Instead of giving me 2 meal options to choose from a day before, she will ask what I want to eat. But when I asked her what dishes she knows how to cook, she tells me that actually she is not a very good cook. Therefore, my husband had to cook whenever he is not working while she sits and watch TV.

Also, she likes to prepare food way ahead of time (to make things easier for her) like the red date tea. She keeps it in the fridge (only heat up in microwave when I want to drink) so she doesn't have to boil it daily (which she was supposed to). When my mom saw this she was furious as it will give me even more "wind" when it is kept in the fridge. When questioned, she had the nerve to put the blame on me. She told my mom I was the one who told her to boil more and keep in fridge!

In the first week, she used to sleep till 10am. Only when my mom came over and stayed for a few days, she wakes up earlier. Even though she sleeps in the same room as me, during midnight feedings, I will be the one to feed my baby and burp and put him to bed. She will only help in changing the diaper then she will go back to sleep. If baby doesn't want to sleep or cry, she will pretend not to hear, roll over and sleep facing the other direction like the photo attached. And worst thing is, she snores - so loud sometimes I find it difficult to sleep.

When it comes to taking care of baby, she is very "chin chai" & not hygienic. I've found stains of poo on my baby's face, clothes & changing mat. She also doesn't wash her hands after changing the diaper and sometimes she will wipe baby's eyes and mouth using her bare hands! Also, when applying powder, she doesn't apply to the neck folds, behind ears, armpits etc. This is very important as rashes tends to form in these areas!

It was so stressful and tiring for me as I had to do most of the job myself during my confinement. And worst thing about this aunty is that she is very good in pretending and cut corners. It is really hard to find a good and honest confinement lady nowadays. That is why I am writing this long comment so that other parents don't get cheated by these types of inexperienced CL. That said, I am blessed to have such a supportive hubby and seeing my baby smile everyday made it all worth it!

Want to check around whats there really got confinement lady association in malaysia officially declare cl working days is from 28 days to 26days this year?

can anyone tell me if I am having twins I have to pay double?
eg. 3800 x 2?

OMg that's ridiculous . How come so expensive? RM4000 + RM300 ang pow ? it's way too much. Did u get the same Aunty Michelle that I used ? I did recommend her to my cousin sister and some friends ,she charge her RM 3500 and so do mine. The only complain from her is Aunty Michelle do not allowed her to eat outside food and have to eat alot ginger and fish soup which she don't like .

The balance $ for the service, Have pay CL during or after confinement ? Pls advice

I would like to share my recently (Feb 14) bad confinement experience with a bad confinement lady with everyone so that you can avoid this CL in the future. Her fees was RM3900 plus RM300 ang pow. Amount of ang pow was mentioned before I hired her. I delivered 5 weeks early and coincide with CNY and she asked for additional RM600. I agreed. In total I paid her RM4800 for her confinement service. I extended her for another 2 more weeks and paid her another RM600. I paid RM5400 for one and half month service. Her problems are:

1. She STEALS. I realized after she left that she has stolen my gold bullion (10g). I estimated that it cost around RM1500 with today gold price.

2. She doesn't know how to cook basic confinement food! She doesn't know how to cook chicken in rice wine and pork's trotter in vinegar. She liked to debone the chicken and cooked it with salt and rice wine. She will fried the ginger and put on the chicken after chicken was cooked. This is her way to cook chicken with rice wine! She cooked pork's trotter vinegar with lots of water and the vinegar was tasteless! She can't even cook rice properly. Rice was as hard as stone! I reminded her to add more water but she ignored me because she like to eat her rice hard.

3. She burned my non stick wok. I told her not to turn on the heat on the induction cooker to the maximum, she ignored me. The wok cost me RM300. She also scratched the surface of my induction cooker. She is a very rough person. She spoiled my double boiler. I have been using it for more than 10 years and she has broken it after using it for a month! She almost broken my water filter. She turn the water to the maximum when using the filter and the pressure was too strong until the tap was leaking! Maybe it wasn't her wok and cooker so she never bother to look after it. She has no sense of responsibility. When I told her off she said she is used to turning everything to the maximum!! What an excuse.

4. She never bother to clean the kitchen after cooking. I have to clean after her every night! I washed the kitchen sink and pick up bits of food after she has gone to bed. I cleaned the induction cooker because she have drops of oil and sauce on the cooker after cooking! I have to clean the kitchen during my confinement when I wasn't suppose to wet my hand too much. Overall she is not a very hygenic person. Sometimes she saw me cleaning but she didn't bother to help because her eyes were glue to the tv. She always turn on the tv even when she was cooking in the kitchen. She watched tv when she was cooking!

5. She didn't bath and clean baby properly. After she left when I was bathing baby myself that I notice the fold at baby neck was smelly and red! There was some white thing inside the fold too. She didn't clean behind baby ear too. It was so smelly and all red too!

6. She didn't know that I can't eat ginger if my baby has jaundice. I told her to omit ginger from my food but she insisted that it is ok. I got so pissed off and told her sternly that I can't have ginger if I am breast feeding my baby! And she didn't know that a breast feeding mother can't have alcohol too. Just before I want to breast feed my baby she pour some DOM into my chicken essence for me to drink!

She pretended to know everything but in fact she doesn't know anything! Luckily this is my second baby and have experience with confinement rules and pantang.

I really don't mind about the weaknesses as long as she is hardworking but I am angry and mad and betrayed that she has stolen my gold bullion! I trusted her and treated her as a family member. It didn't cost much but it was a gift to my eldest son from my aunt. She liked to open all my kitchen compartment and check my things. She is a very nosy person. Always checking what you have.

A relative actually introduced me to this CL. The introducer name is Joean Tai from Seremban. She received RM300 as introduction fees. The CL name is Kam Ying (Ying 女且) also from Rembau, Seremban. Her number 016 *745617. She mentioned that she was divorced after 2 years of marriage and have 2 children in their 40's. She said she is 68 years old. Please beware of her.

You can't manage without them but their present make your life miserable.

Hi all Mummies, just want to share on my recent confinement nanny experience. Her name is Aunty Lai. We hired her from www.supernannyservices.com.sg. Managed to get her pics from the site.

The agency's behaviour was also bad and unprofessional but that's another story for another day.

For now, I just want to caution Mummies-to-be against hiring this nanny. Save yourself the trouble!
Aunty Lai's behaviour:
1. Lazy - Sleep till 11am, does not make breakfast for me. Fell asleep on sofa in the afternoon and yet still went to sleep on her bed in the afternoon.
2. Tardy - left milk bottles in steriliser and baby's clothes hanging on the rack and still went to sleep for the night. Reminded her to keep, still did not do the next day.
3. Dirty - did not wash hands after changing diaper and touched baby all over. Threw the soiled diapers in the dustbin in the room, causing the room to smell (not to mention it's not hygienic).
4. Rough - used rough, dry TISSUE to wipe my kid, causing her skin to turn red. Worst thing was that she caused my kid to suffer - her crotch all red and swollen.

She was so uncommunicative even after we told her what to do and our expectations. At no point were we rude to her. In fact, I even took her shopping to buy things for her stay with us!
Needless to say, we sent her packing in less than a week. Stay away from this nanny!

I just want to share on my experience with 2 different CL that i recetly hired.

First CL Detials as Below (BEWARE of this CL!!! ):
Name : Auntie May (May Jie / May 姐)

Location : Ampang, KL
Charges : RM3800 (+ RM200 AngPow)


Attitude:
- Dirty
-Bath once a day only. Din brush teeth.
- Change cloths once a day even after cooking, feels oily, still touch my baby.
- Wash my wife's and baby's cloths at night (9-10pm) after soaking it starting afternoon (3-4pm) then leave it in the pail after rinse. She use to hang the cloths next morning. Eventhough my wife wants her to hang immedietly, she refuse to do so, claiming that "Its ok one, no smell one, don't worry.". In fact, the cloths that she wash is so smelly.
- Spoiled my aircond fin. Instead of using remote control, she manually adjust the aircond vent fin and end up the fin latch breaks.
- Lazy
-Wake up by 830am after i go to work, then slept more than 4 times a day.
-Always ponteng kerja. Go 1hr bfast and 1hr lunch time at my condo's mamak stall.
-Not caring on baby even when baby cries. Leave it for us to take care. Keep saying "Its good for baby to cry"
- Not cleaning the kitchen after she use it and even not wiping my dinner table after her meals. Leave all the "Sisa-sisa" food like rice or soup drops on the table and floor. End up i need to clean it for her.

- Financially Unstable
- Beside pay RM500 deposit for her service, she requested/borrowed another RM1500 advance claiming that she needs to pay for her house loan, else bank going to lelong her house. Now total RM2000 with her.
- Always introduce some other products saying that she is selling some MLM product which is good for my wife.

- Healthiness
- She has 风湿. Work awhile already whole body pain. Thats why she always need to rest every 1-2 hr times.
- She SMOKES!!!! But she din admit, however, I get to know from the "Urut Lady" that she introduce to me. Claim from Urut Lady (Very profesional and High Recomended) that this MayJie always ask her to buy cigrattees for her everytime she introduce some business. Thats why they banned her.

- Profesionalism & Experience
- She knows just basic for confinement service. Basic chinese herbal also she don't know where she ask me what is 北芪.
- She even tried to cook 炖椰子鸡 for my wife during the 1st week on confinement. We told her Coconut is very 凉 but she don't agree.
- She din cook soup most of the time for my wife unless we request. Keep saying just need to ginger and wine will do.
- Cooked 杜仲补腰汤 at the 3rd day for my wife where she is not suitable to drink during 1st 12 days.


Conclusion: BEWARE of this CL! She worked for 7days only, then I fired her. She commits to return the balance of the money i borrowed her (RM1000), but its after 3 weeks aleady, still not return to me yet.

I found her from a sales girl from Enfa. Highly recomended and luckily she agrees to help me after a week that i fired Aunty May as above.


Attitude:
- Clean
- Wipe and clean my kitchen everytime after she use it.
- Help me sweep my hse (Although i told her i can do it myself since my hse is small only) every morning.

- Hardworking
- Wake up by 630am daily. Prepare bfast for my wife and take care of my baby.
- Always ask my wife what she wants to eat, then she will prepare accordingly.
- Wash my wife's and baby's cloths every morning and hang it immedietly.

- Financially Stable
- Beside paying RM500 deposit, she says the balance just need to pay when she completes her job. Very Steady!

- Healthiness
- Very healthy aunty. Looks strong and proffesional.

- Profesionalism & Experience
- She is very experience in taking care of baby and mum.
- Beside that, she cook nice food as well. Trust me, quite tasty!
- Very polite aunty, always inform us whenever she eats or rest. Although I told her, I understand if she is tired becoz of taking night shift taking care of baby, then need to rest more during day time.

Conclusion: High recomended if you are looking for a trustable Confinement Lady.

I'm wondering if all confinement lady must stay with the family to take care of the baby and mom at night?? Because I'm afraid the room is too small and packed..
