Yes, shutter has wear and tear. Don't worry much about it. Most people don't even have the chance to replace the shutter before it damaged

Heh its normal for a new cam owner and overtime you wont use that many shutter clicks a day, unless there's and event or something. So far my record is 2k+ pics a day, whole day do panning spam only on a drift event

you're worrying about the wrong things la. there's nothing you can do about it. when it's time for it to die, it'll spoil. the rated shutter life is just a rating. it wont die exactly at that number. even so, it can be fixed for a few hundred.

Its 4 cores, 8 threads. I run Ubuntu and virtualize win7 &winxp on it using vmware. That way I can run my desktop practically anywhere and on any hardware.

The drivers aren't difficult. In fact most of it are precompiled into the kernel modules. I just swapped my ssd onto the sandy bridge board and booted it... Worked right out of first boot, unlike windows where you have to install drivers and all...

My printers work, my scanner works, everything works. And with virtualization I dont even have to reinstall windows.

For LR3, go to the develop module. Scroll down on the right pane, NR is there. You can adjust both luma and chroma noise reduction.

Added on January 1, 2011, 5:36 pm544 in 24 hours is a little la. There was once during an event whickh I dont have to do selections, I shot 5k in 4 hours. Too bad for the editors. Hahaha.
