My otto maximum last only 5 months, after that all will die one by one, I don't know why. 3 batch already...
So now want to get yamato a try... From SLS, the only one who was willing to post and with ready stock. But now, looking at the size of the yamato, I think I got too many for my tank already... They are huge compared to my cherries...

I'm the only one among my friends having a planted tank...

Yes it was a bit expensive. But the hair and thread algae was getting on my nerves. Have to clean the tank every 3 -4 days, and seeing 30 cm long strands in my tank was not very pleasing.

But most importantly, I'm going back to Kuala Terengganu on the 5th of February, 3rd day of Chinese new year, so I think most of the LFS will still be closed. And also the toll money and petrol of getting to the LFS from my place is not cheap. As if I want to bring back here, I need to go to SS19 before I go to the airport, which will add another hour to my journey. I usually get them right before the flight so I won't have any casualities. So in my shoes, its not that expensive if you take in consideration all the factors.

SAE will eat hair algae also mah. why no one talk about this ?

Cause I heard SAE will eat the baby shrimplets of my cheery shrimps...

I got bad experiences with losing cherry shrimps.

But exactly how bad would it be if I put in a few SAE with my cherries??? Will the adult cherries get affected???

get young SAes, adult SAes are much more lazier

But what about the effects on my cherries???

I don't want to lose my whole colony of cherries again...

Adult cherries or cherries in general wont really get effected if theres a lot of hiding space..

Haiz... You said that about harlequins and cherries last time and I lost a whole colony of 30 to the harlequins, since then, I know my tank don't have enough hiding place.

I have 15 small SAE (~4cm length) in my 5ft with 10 Fire Red Cherry (~8 berried) during the initial stage. After 4 months, I have like ~200 cherries.

I guess the shrimplets hide underneath the glosso carpet.

Then maybe I should add in a moss wall to increase the hiding place... Cause all shrimps and no fish is starting to get boring...

went NA today to get some accesories... yamato only left few ekor.. lolx

before rearing crs, i made a genocide on my rcs... those who remain alive remains lol... yea its cruel i know but then its too much... giving some to my friends and the left 2 male and a female in my tank hehe...

The Yamato shrimps are damn aggressive when it comes to feeding...

Now I'm afraid my cherries won't have enough to eat and most importantly, the Yamato aren't eating the 30cm long thread algae they were suppose to clean out.

Any advice???
