How about the 55w PLL lights around Klang??? Anyone know where its sold???
I can only find the Aquazonic 55w PLL bulb from The Pets Family Klang, I don't trust it cause they never specify the Kelvin of the lights... |

DIY = Do It Yourself
If you want to buy it, you can get the nutrafin Co2 system which cost around RM75 I think. And each refill package will cost around RM5-10, I think. You'll need to change the mixture every 3-4 weeks. I've only seen it and heard about people using it, never really tried it out myself. ![]() ![]() As you can see, its just a sealed bottle and a Co2 diffuser... IMO, its not worth it at all. The hardware isn't even worth RM30, and the refill package are actually yeast + sugar + sodium carbonate. Which you can do it yourself very easily. Its a total rip off, but this is just my personal opinion... If you want to see how easy it is to DIY, heres the link: http://www.my-mac.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11047 My advice is to either DIY yourself or save up and get a pressurised Co2 system later. Its really not worth buying something which you can make yourself with 20% the cost. |

QUOTE(aBc!! @ Jan 11 2011, 03:02 AM) I'm using EHEIM classic 2213 for 6 months now, to me it seems just right for my 100 liter tank. Flow is not too much, not too little. I like it... I clean it every 3 months, cause by then the fine filter sponge will be blocked and the filter will start making some sound. Not very audible, by if you put your ear close, you know the motor sound changed... IME, the priming is ok, but there is a lot of trapped bubbles because of the media basket, cause its not a tight fit to the canister. So there is bubbles between the media basket and the canister. I recently just DIY my own lattice screen so that I can fill in the filter media just like a 2215 or 2217. I could put in more bio rings and the priming was so smooth. Before this I had trapped air for at least 1 weeks, now all the air were released on the first prime. To me, it works, its extreme silent, good flow, and most importantly its EHEIM... |

I'm using JBL Ferropol and JBL Ferropol 24.
But I'm using black gravel as substrate and most of my plants are either stem plants or moss... ![]() |

I got question...
I got some nice driftwood from a 4 feet tank that has been abandoned for almost 2 years today. Its full of algae, even BGA and snails. So I'm thinking of treating the driftwood with bleach to remove all the possible algae and snails eggs. Is this recommended??? I've already rinsed it a few times with hot water. |

QUOTE(aBc!! @ Jan 18 2011, 02:39 AM) My Co2 on 24 hours, but only at 0.25 bps, very slow. Cause I'm using inline diffuser on the inlet. If too much there will be airlock in the canister filter everyday. I scare spoil my eheim 2213. But I still can get pearlings on my water sprite and also a continous stream of oxygen bubble from the plants with co2 at 0.25bps. |

I just got the Co2 tank last August, now its at 800 psi. But the inline is new also, around 2 months old. Before this was using nano glass diffuser at 0.5 bps and was getting the same effect of pearlings.
