Actually, kinda hard to get surface oil when you're using a HOB, unless it really doesn't have enough power.

Its good in a way, cause less surface flow = less Co2 loss... thumbup.gif

Since you've rear fish before, why don't you list down the gears you have and we'll tell you which one can be reused and which need to buy new.

The plant die cause no fertilizer...

thanks notworthy.gif
I gave away the tank last time so got nothing now

+1

With a RM200 budget, you'll definitely won't be getting a CO2 tank. Do list down your current equiptment.

Your plants died most probably because you didn't have the right lights, water temperature or even fertilization.

thanks notworthy.gif
I already plan to DIY myself the co2 smile.gif

QUOTE(Superdude @ Jan 19 2011, 11:02 AM)
my suggestion

rm50 - nano tank
rm20 - light, go to light shop ask for PLL light with 10000 lm
rm30 - Sand. Let assume rm5.00 per pack. you need at least 5 packs.
Don't worry about sand. Some plant can live good with sand.
rm10 - you can buy some fishes from jalan pasar, Pudu. Guppy is cheaper. It is about around rm1.00 each.
Aquarium plant
--------------------------
Egeria densa - about rm2.00 per pack.
Vallisneria americana var. asiatica - about rm3.00 per pack
Anubias barteri var. nana - about rm10.00 depend on the size.
Moss is about rm10 per pack.

For aquarium plant , you can refer to this web site
http://www.tropica.com/plants/difficulty/easy.aspx
DIY Co2
--------------
1.5l 100plus or coke bottle. (FOC. just ask around)
yeast - rm0.89 per pack
sugar - rm2.00 per pack
tube rm0.50 per foot. you can get from hardware shop
Co2 diffuser about rm18.00

Go get DC computer fan from computer shop. Blow your aquarium tank surface to bring down the water temperature.
*
any suggestion shop near setapak area?
where to get the co2 diffuser?
I live at condo and normally my place is very cold , but let me know the temperature of water needed for planted aquarium..

thanks again for your reply notworthy.gif

for the HOB, if u wan to make it efficient to suck the water surface, u have to mod it so that it just suck water surface level only.
the one that suck from the inside tank one, the HOB lower sucker, u have to shut or or somehow close it.
u saw mine also right, sort of like that.

hmm.. not sure bout other shop, i only survey NA in ss19 so far, NA seems dun have full set like this and they dun hav 0.5L size icon_rolleyes.gif as my tank is only around 1 feet, 1L co2 tank seems so huge.. haha tongue.gif this 0.5L can be place beside my tank and fit nicely

that time i asked bout 0.8 or 0.6L (can't remember the exact size) tank only.. yupe.. tank only, its rm250, and then they quote me the regulator rm70-80
