QUOTE(douge @ Jan 10 2011, 11:28 AM) Any particular reason? I have 6 in my tank now. Will increase to 10-12. Nothing much for them to eat now.QUOTE(fongzai92 @ Jan 10 2011, 03:26 PM) dont do too much WC. i mean the percentage. just change about 20% of your water enough. 80% really toooooooooooooooo much. You will be surprised with my water change..It is not recommended to do large water change but if do it correctly, everything should be fine. I always re-seed my tank with bacteria after large water change. This post has been edited by ProX: Jan 12 2011, 04:50 PM |

QUOTE(chuppy2 @ Jan 12 2011, 04:58 PM) QUOTE(Oxburg @ Jan 12 2011, 04:59 PM) I use ADA and BorneoWild. Sometimes ADA, sometimes BorneoWild. ADA Green Bacter - 2 drops after each WC BorneoWild Bacter Crystal (powder) - very small quantity mix with aquarium water. Wait for it to fully dilute and pour into the tank. Note - if i use ADA, i didnt use BW. Vice versa. |

Yes, surface skimmer can be use to suck out the protein layer. Alternatively, you can also use Lily pipe to create gentle vortex.

I have 15 small SAE (~4cm length) in my 5ft with 10 Fire Red Cherry (~8 berried) during the initial stage. After 4 months, I have like ~200 cherries.
I guess the shrimplets hide underneath the glosso carpet. |

QUOTE(SweetPuff @ Jan 27 2011, 12:41 AM) Something could have frightened the shrimp. Even lights turning on/off will sometimes scare them. Or there could be some sort of change in the water. Oxburg - Giesemann bulb is not cheap. I would say it cost 3x more than normal bulb. I am thinking to replace 2x Katana bulb with Hagen LifeGlo but a bit reluctant since everything is doing good now. Wait after CNY then I do some experiment again.
For co2 tank..this one look good - http://www.up-aqua.com/00-dm-page/00dm_co2-all-big.jpg For regulator - http://www.up-aqua.com/00-dm-page/00up_106-AD-1-big.jpg |
