Wow Tyja. You invest a lot in planted tank.
I only dose 5 drops of Azoo ferts weekly.

would it be you light not strong enough?
I m using 56w x 2 + 18w in my 1.5feet cubic tank

Greetings...

Firstly i want to say sorry for my lack of English.
I had one freshwater aquarium : 10inch x 16inch x 10inch(HxLxW)
Setup with 2 waterfalls like filter and 11W lamp 6700K.
Use ADA Africana Soil.
I'm using CO2 tablet for my plant(1 tablet every 2 days).

I'm thinking on to re-build my tank to look more natural and need your suggestion:

What did you think about my current tank?(picture attached)
Does it look like messy?(Too much plant?)
Does my tank too crowded with fish?
Does my plant had enough CO2?(my grass seems not so green enough)
Does my plant had enough lighting or do i need to increase the Kelvin/Watt?

Please help me give suggestion or opinion on what should I do/don't.

too dense for medium size fish in a small tank laa... trim ur plants bit... tetra size and rasboras should be ideal....
no point dosing so much co2 when ur lighting is just minimal... everything must have a balance... if wanna keep it low tech, no need dose co2... make sure ur base fert and substrate is sufficient, ur plants will survive....

Qieroxer89:
In my opinion, (this is my personal point if view)
Your fishes is too big for your tank
Trim your rotala.
Maybe you should add another 18W for your tank. Only turn on light maximum 8hours daily

What kind to use?

Well there are many different types lighting but the only kind I would recommend for tanks under 75 gallons are flourescent bulbs, either compact or regular. These are the cheapest and have the widest variety of bulbs available. You can get all the bulbs you need from your local DIY store such as Home Depot. Which ones you say though? Well there are many different things to consider:

Kelvin: This denotes the color of the bulb. The higher the Kelvin the more bluish it is and the lower it is the more reddish it is. Most aquarists use bulbs between 5000K and 7000K.

CRI: or color rendering index. This denotes how close to natural light the bulb is. The sun has a CRI of 100. Any bulb above 85 will be fine.

Lumens: This is the amount of light the bulb produces. Most flourescents are in the 2000 range. This doesn't matter too much though. As long as it is in this range it will be fine.

T-12, T-8, or Compacts? Good question. Really depends on your space available in your hood. T-12 and T-8 bulbs are basically the same only T-8's are more efficient but with a lower output. T-12 are the best choice in my opinion. Compacts are easily the best choice however they are more expensive in the short run. You can get a 55 watt, 22 in. compact flourescent bulb while you can only get a 40 watt, 48 in. regular T-12 bulb.

How much? The most common question asked. On average most plants will do just fine under 2 watts per gallon however plants such as java moss and java fern will do fine in 1-1.5 watts/gallon. For a really succesful tank 3-4 watts/gallon is needed. However with this high lighting CO2 will need to be injected.

to answer ur second question : http://www.plantedtank.net/articles/Fertil...Planted-Tank/1/

QUOTE
Fertilizing a planted tank may seem unnatural for those of us who have kept "fish only" tanks. To keep lush plants in a fish tank it is almost a neccesity. To get the kind of growth that you see in the gallery section on the site and others like it, you'll need a minimum of 2.5 watts of flourescent light per gallon of aquarium water volume (or 2.5 )WPG. This info does not apply to low light tanks with no co2 injection and adding these fertilizers to a low light tank would be just about pointless. This article is written in an attempt to take the mystery out of fertilizing your planted tank.
