What make me sick is they (TMnet) don even bother to inform us about the maintenance exercise ....
What up with this...We paying your service with our hard earn cash for god sake...
and we deserve to know what are you going with our money.
Is it to hard to email each of your customer about your bloody maintenance.
we have a lot of other thing to do beside dialing your bloody call center.

there i've said it

QUOTE
TM need to come out with new plans that are not to go by speed, but to go by volume.

Old fashioned way to look at this. Internet should not be limited to speed or volume by ISP's, ISP's that still limit internet have different agenda's or are limited themselves by 'higher powers'.

QUOTE
TM: have an optimal surfing experience within the normal limits of Internet usage.

Fun that an ISP is the one to decide what is the limit of internet usage. Clearly TM has not been looking outside their own territory to see that internet has evolved way past 'browsing experiences' and such. My connection is not crappy (4mbps) because of the fact that others go nuts on P2P, it's crappy because it is a shared line based on inferior technology. I can't even use my webcam when skyping with family from Europe. Even my 60+ year old mother has a 50mbps dedicated line. It's sticking to old inferior crap that makes TM do these moves. Keep the old stuff rocking for the next 10 years. Next up is that 20mpbs package, with 20GB monthly cap where I have to call daily to have it switched on after I have shown proof I am not going to actually use the line to the fullest. I buy 20mbps? Then I get and get to use 20mbps. Nothing unfair to that, unless you don't want to admit that you are actually selling the same service to thousands of people at the same time without being able to garantee proper quality of the service. I should call myself lucky that I have had a 400kb/s line from day1 @ Streamyx, but wait...4mbps divided by a rough factor 8 means 500kb/s....of which 100kb/s never see the entrance of my unit smile.gif

So MX510, after about 7 months this thread was started, what exactly was the outcome in the end? If they are going ahead implementing some sort of FUP, which one are they doing? How come there is no news or feedback about this to the users?

No matter what, FUP sucks. Try to watch HD Youtube for a while and see how much data you consume. You will easily surpass their limit in no time. Don't tell me Youtube is illegal too? So what for do we subscribe to a higher speed if Youtube cannot, download cannot? Might as well downgrade to 384kbps if all TM wants us to do is just surfing.

actually the purpose of FUP is to OVERSELL their bandwidth to more customer to maximize the profit of ISP...because they dont want to upgrade their bandwidth or infrastructure.

dont knw why still got ppl think it is related to piracy prevention doh.gif

Make whatever truth if you will about FUP, the only one who truly benefits from FUP is TM. Not the people. It's as expected of a monopolized isp and generally any monopolized corporation in this world.

I traced and got the company who designed this fakap FUP

http://175.136.196.118/trsb/index.php?acti...hievement:key-1

Truly stated that their attention for the ISP to get

Additional bandwidth saving by ISP

Additional revenue for ISP Telco via additional charge from exceed data
